Is it the moon pulling it around? Serious question. I have hesrd that the moon's gravitational pull has a slight effect on the oceans as well as rven large lakes and other characters on our world.

We have got something just like this at prashar lake in himachal pradesh. Expect its there for more than like 100 years and a actual Island.

Actually it’s a bog, a buildup of plant matter and vegetation that exists within a lake, often moving around over periods of time.
