I don't know, learning to work with APIs is reflective of a lot of real world projects.

The project is only tiered at the complexity that you design it to be. A really basic note taking app does not outweigh a fully fleshed out website project, I'm sorry.

The amount of web developers i know that dont even have a single website they own thats still live online is staggering. Ive done interviews where theyre shocked i have my own website. Crazy world

Calculator is good for when I was learning to make a language because you can learn lexing and parsing in a very simple environment

I mean the chatbot thing doesn't necessarily mean just using the api There can be more features, file uploads, conversion between file format with ffmpeg in the backend to supported by the model ones, using multiple APIs like google cloud vision for images for extra context, implementing your own search assisted answers, embeddings for memory and stuff, rag Preparing instructions and json schemas for some supporting tasks for the actual answer Whisper for audio and video when the model doesn't support audio Built in youtube video info and transcript extraction by link I can't really find a platform with everything, Poe has part of it but not really, Merlin has some youtube stuff but idk, what exactly you get from the subscription isn't really certain and they don't want to answer my clarification email

I started webdev around a month ago and I don't understand the short putting a personal website at D tier. From not knowing html css nor a single line of javascript, I've picked up react, typescript, shader languages and learnt a lot of math all in the pursuit to make it cool and make me satisfied. Maybe I am wrong and I could've learnt a lot more had I done the other projects.
