What started as a photo of an empty yellow room and a warning about “noclipping out of reality” would grow into a massive mythology spanning thousands of levels, hundreds of creatures, viral web series, video games, and even a Hollywood movie. In this episode, I’ll explore the complete history of the Backrooms: the origins of the infamous image, the psychology behind liminal spaces, the community-created lore that transformed it into a modern creepypasta phenomenon, and the groundbreaking Kane Pixels series that brought the concept to millions. From fluorescent-lit hallways and endless yellow rooms to the terrifying mysteries hidden beyond reality itself, this is the complete history of the Backrooms. It’s honestly crazy how far Kane Pixels has come since he uploaded that first Backrooms video. The guy not only gained widespread recognition and praise on YT, but he also adapted his story into a movie with the support of A24. And he did it all before he was even old enough to legally buy a drink. Genuine inspiration.
We need a movie about the SCP foundation
Entities didn't ruin the Backrooms, TOO MUCH entities ruined the Backrooms
one person put a image online and now we are getting a full A24 horror movie
17:32 somehow, the backrooms pic being taken in wisconsin somehow feels right
14:00 red is math, no?? Please tell me I'm not the only one 😅
When talking about the color yellow I thought of Hastur (The King in Yellow from the Cthulhu Mythos) who represents madness too
I'm surprised you didn't mention David Lynch. He's like the granddaddy of Backrooms.
I mean, Coraline really IS that good.
Look for the loom cornucopia thing has already been debunked. They had a cornucopia. They changed it.
31:05 No. SCP stands for Secure, Contain, Protect
Imagine being the person who pushed a concept online that would eventually become a movie
Green folders are for science Red is for math Blue is for history Yellow is for language arts
I still don't get the unease people feel when they look at pictures of liminal spaces. I've never felt that.
14:07 A notable example of the color yellow you missed is the Gothic weird fiction novel, "The King in Yellow" Which is about a fictional play that makes you go insane If you read it. Pretty on point, all things considered
Thank you for making your videos in an educational/ essay style that's accessible to scaredy cats
It's like SCP.....isn't the SCP actually under a creative commons license? Isn't that why we can't have a big budget version
I watched this video while eating a bowl of delicious pasta. 🍝
Pls do the history of the overlook hotel, I beg
Caretakers and night security will get the empty school thing. Being the only person in a building or place normally peopled by hundreds or thousands every so often just causes a disconnect.
