The Day Human History Reset: What Really Happened 12,800 Years Ago?

Education

In the permafrost of Siberia, they found mammoths so well-preserved the meat was still red—frozen mid-motion with undigested flowers still in their stomachs. Something struck the Earth 12,800 years ago with such violence that it hit the "reset" button on human civilization and wiped 35 species of megafauna off the map. In this deep dive, we explore the mystery of the Younger Dryas, a 1,200-year deep freeze that changed the course of our species forever. We investigate the "Black Mat" layer found across four continents, the controversial Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis, and the terrifying evidence of a comet that rained fire across the Northern Hemisphere. From the disappearance of the Clovis people to the sudden, sophisticated construction of Göbekli Tepe, we ask the ultimate question: Was there a "lost" civilization before the flood? The Taurid meteor stream is still out there, and we pass through it twice a year. This isn't just history—it's a warning.

Love this topic! And wrote a few songs regarding the mysteries of old civilizations and the Younger Dryas. You can listen to them (Spotify/Amazon/YouTube) under my label – Salted Lyrics – Songs include: "We're Not The First", "The Stars Are The Vault", "The Night The Cold Begun" and "Someting Must Give". Enjoy!

Desperation is the daddy of invention. I believe that the younger dryas inspired the invention of agriculture. Which in turn inspired the invention of civilization and settlement. If it wasn't for the younger dryas hunter-gatherers wouldn't decided to be farmers and wouldn't have started to develop ancient civilizations 12000 years ago

No crater? What if it is buried under ice? I have heard about an iron meteor that is said to have hit Greenland in this time range. If anything would melt ice in a hurry, causing a 400’ ocean rise, I would think this could play a big part!

Let me assure you, the comet strike of the 11,600 years ago of the Younger Dryass was not the only Apocalyptic event in human history.

I still think that whatever collision destroyed a planetary body, which we now called the asteroid belt, sent destruction across the entire solar system. Earth got hit from multiple fragments of that.

Perhaps some of the explanation lies right here in Western Wisconsin, within the 4 mile diametor crater.of the ancient comet impact.

We’ve survived a lot of stuff in the last 350,000 years.

How did the Egyptian Priests tell about an ancient civilization 6000 years prior if all the evidence was wiped out? Someone or something has to remain for a story to be told.

The Younger Dryas was an abrupt period of intense, near-glacial cooling that occurred approximately 12,900 to 11,700 years ago. Most likely killed off the saber tooth and giant sloths in the Americans too, that's humans are now being blamed for their extinction.

The black mat is ridiculously tough to break through as well… I come across it all the time here in Winslow as I dig new gardens.

Deetonating, rather than detonating, is an interesting way to have taught the AI.
