I have POTS and my experience is that it makes you groggy, dizzy, weak, lethargic... not a fainting goat stiff legged with the gas peddle to the floor 100%. And by definition, POTS is a result of standing for too long, or going from sitting to standing too quickly, because your circulation doesn't get enough blood to your head fast enough (it's difficult to explain). So, I've never heard of anyone having a POTS episode while sitting. And being groggy and lethargic doesn't equal fainting, which it seems like she's insinuating. My understanding is also that POTS doesn't cause fainting unless coupled with another disorder like NCS. So, all that to say she's a liar and a murderer.

Interestingly, I just responded to a podcast that I have not ever viewed before that also covered this topic. My response was that I think the most condemning evidence of Shirilla’s intent is her own answers while being interviewed. I believe she shows signs of so much contradiction between her words and her actual feelings/beliefs. You pointed out many of my own observations regarding her parents’s behavior as well as her own. I was shocked when she stated that Dom lacked good communication skills, as though she herself did?! What?! That is blatantly contradicted by the recording of her conversation with Dom when she was unable to enter the house. Clearly, to me she cannot satisfactorily answer for her choices. I think her parents have allowed her to dodge so much accountability that they’re all just left grasping at straws. I think they are fellow narcissists and getting their daughter free is the only way to exonerate themselves. They are so invested in it that they almost have no capability to walk this back. Interestingly, her friends are also missing much of the truth here too, but given that they are also young it could be that they may grow to become more aware of her culpability. The parents seem to me to be on the same level as her friends, so I believe they really shirked their duty of parenting and setting healthy boundaries and consequences for their daughter. Tone-deaf is a term used by some of the other people in documentary, and I think that is accurate. And Mckenzie, ending her interview with “that’s it”, is just creepy. It kind of goes along with her dad’s weird comic shirt — as if to say ubiddy, ubiddy, ubiddy, that’s all folks 🧐

Timeline 37.48 speaks volumes and possibly says all one needs to understand about this appalling incident. Judge tells mother "I'm not hearing very much about Dominic and only about your daughter". If there is one unambiguous none-verbal/body language sign, this is it. As the Judge politely addresses the Mother, the mother puts both hands, palms up, to the Judge as if to say 'stop, stop talking, I can't even process the concept of empathy, responsibility and remorse'. Personally I doubt if this mother could even spell the word empathy. The mother then utters the word Dominic as if she thinks this will in some way appease the Judge, then she reverts right back to talking about her wonderful guiltless daughter. The Judge to her credit does not respond to the Mother's disrespectful gesture and instead thinks to herself - I've seen enough and sentences Mackenzie accordingly. The moral of the story would seem to be if you do not set boundaries for your children, they enter the real world as adult children, adult in body but still desperately entitled children emotionally and psychologically. It's a toxic dynamic rendering the child bereft of any ability to navigate life in any appropriate or meaningful way.

There's something really wrong with this family. No remorse. No shame. No empathy. Delusional levels of narcissism. We haven't even touched on the weird af texts between Mackenzie and her dad. And the way Mackenzie's mom is more concerned about being "cool" and bffs with her teenage daughter. She's called Mackenzie in jail just to gossip with her on the phone. And then there's the fact that Mackenzie also has 2 siblings, a brother and a sister with autism, and her sister gets bullied by Mackenzie and their parents. At this point, the parents need to be held accountable and locked up too.

Dear Spidey, I'm Colombian and still living in my country, so I was unaware of this case until Netflix and you brought it up. I sense two things here: 1- The parents seem like a perfect example of no-limit, no-intervention "parenting" (being cool friends instead of parents). And 2- A scary psycho vibe in McKenzie.

She has the exact same soothing gesture her mother has pinching the elbow ?

McKenzie's parents have the "not my child" attitude. If there was a camera in the car showing McKenzie saying and deliberately drive into building, they would still deny it. It's convenient that she only doesn't remember only leading up to the crash and the crash, but remembers Davion is in the car moments after being told the Dom died. She should have been given the sentences to run consecutively not concurrently.

Thank you school district for standing up for the value of moral behavior and expecting your staff to do the same. I believe Dad allowed marijuana smoking in his daughter so that his behavior was acceptable too. I think dad lived more for himself than he did for his daughter. He let his daughter down by lack of discipline... in his life and in hers. This is so sad.

Her parents raised her this way. They should get locked up too.

Thank God Dominic kept all of their text conversations and knew to record her during her violent threats. That was proof she had intent.

Parents are actually the weird ones! You don't have to be behavioral to know the parents are the bigger problem

"I will do anything I can to prove no intent to the families" Anything but cry a single tear for them. Every tear she shed is only for herself.

Davion's father spoke with such wisdom and kindness when he said that "the worst thing that could happen is for MacKenzie to be babied for the next 15 years by her parents and told she did nothing wrong, and she never made a mistake in her life, and she's the perfect girl and has been completely wronged, and the system is against her and the prosecution lied. All those things are damaging to her psyche. Those aren't going to help her adjust and become a well-functioning adult when she gets out of prison." The difference between that and the utter inability displayed by MacKenzie's parents to take responsibility for their actions or hers is what stands out most.

I wish this analysis would be longer! Id love part 2. Damn, I wish I could listen and observe to more of what you have to say here, not as much for the case itself, but for the grand amount of potential and behavioraly fascinating moments. I really wish this was longer - or again... part 2... I wish.

This video was my first introduction to you and you’ve gained a new subscriber! I’ve always been interested in body language but so many experts on YT (behaviour panel come to mind) are super arrogant and just toot their own horn about their observations presenting it as the best info ever. What I loved about your analysis is that you point out any limitations and where things can have different interpretations and are unclear. You were also easy to listen to and follow along and explain your thinking well. Looking forward to future videos!
