This year my tax bill was $6k higher than I was anticipating, if Brian Cox was the one to deliver the news somehow I would be perfectly fine with hearing the final figure.
I could listen to this man all day long, he’s so interesting.
Anyone else find his voice calming?
What an amazing way to interpret our existence and time on this planet 🇬🇧🙌😇
Brian Cox has an incredible way of making complex space concepts feel so easy to understand!
The “meaning of life” section felt really special. Him explaining it all while showing humanity and its achievements is🥹🔥
I love this dude. He might be the most pleasant human being I've ever come across. I'd love to meet him one day.
Brian explains everything in a way that everyone can understand him , he is awesome .
Bro speaks like he’s reciting a poem ❤
I don't believe we're "alone, center of the universe" at all. Think about it like this... Take a net and toss it into the ocean at the beach, fish on a boat, etc. Oh!? there's nothing here. Can u say there's no fish that exist at all. No, we just haven't found something, YET.
Brian could tell me everything is gunna be ok, and i would definitely believe him
Relativity does not predict singularities, it forbids them. Einstein wrote in 1939 - "The essential result of this investigation is a clear understanding as to why the Schwarzchild singularities (he was the first to raise the issue of General Relativity predicting singularities) do not exist in physical reality. Although the theory given here treats only clusters (star) whose particles move along circular paths it does seem to be subject to reasonable doubt that more general cases will have analogous results. The Schwarzchild singularities do not appear for the reason that matter cannot be concentrated arbitrarily. And this is due to the fact that otherwise the constituting particles would reach the velocity of light. He was referring to dilation. It's the phenomenon our high school teachers were talking about when they said "mass becomes infinite at the speed of light". This does not mean mass increases, it means mass becomes spread throughout spacetime relative to an outside observer. Time dilation is just one aspect of dilation. Even mass that exists at 75% light speed is partially dilated. It occurs wherever there is an astronomical quantity of mass, this includes the centers of high mass stars and the majority of galaxy centers. Dilation is occurring in our own galactic center. This means that there is no valid XYZ coordinate we can attribute to it, you can't point your finger at something that is smeared through spacetime. In other words that mass is all around us. It's the "missing mass" needed to explain galaxy rotation curves. It doesn't occur in galaxies with low mass centers because they do not have enough mass to achieve relativistic velocities. It has recently been confirmed in 6 ultra diffuse galaxies including NGC 1052-DF2 and DF4 to have normal rotation rates, in other words they have no dark matter/dilated mass.
Thanks guys for all the nice comments ❤🚀 Check out my latest video: /UF1PjbHg1nU
Brian makes the intelligence, wisdom and knowledge of his remarkable intellect so easily accessible for the average person to grasp things we otherwise would not understand.
I’ll never get over the existential crisis every fact about space gives me 😢
I follow what most of Brian is saying - except the part where there is no frontier left on Earth - Hello? 70% of the Earth is covered by oceans & Seas - they also are mostly unexplored frontiers. They also demand research and exploration too.
Brian reminds me of the one teacher who I understood and who explained things in a way I understood and I learned from This is a rare quality in a person I could listen to him for hours Thank you Brian for taking the time to do these informative programs
Perfect explanation!
Every single fact had me saying “no way!”—absolutely mind-blowing!
Very interesting dialogue. I love his "meaning of life" arguement. Thanks.........
