In this episode, we explore the amazing discovery of Gaia BH1, the closest known black hole to Earth. We explain what a black hole is, how it can be detected, and how astronomers found Gaia BH1 using data from a space mission. We also discuss the implications and questions that arise from this discovery for our understanding of black holes and their role in the universe. And we show you how you can see this black hole and its companion star with your own eyes, or with a simple telescope or binoculars. The nearest Black Hole sleeps next to me in our shared bed.
[Looked for black hole through telescope. Found picture of my heart.]
Great! On my way!!! 😎
"Located about 15 60 light years" Clanker gonna clank.
I’m stunned at how well you broke this down!
So I'm pretty good friends with the Spaceflight Operations Manager of Gaia, and before reading much about the satellite I had no idea how amazing it really was. Gaia has helped us discover so much of our galaxy. It's honestly mind bending.
I too travel 15, 60 minutes to work.
Wow. Beautiful video
Did they forget that there is a supermassive blackhole at the center of our own galaxy? lol.
Imagine it's a worm hole and that's why there's no mass transfer
अच्छी जानकारी मिली . धन्यवाद
My backyard project for the weekend: Look for a black hole without an accretion disc with a simple telescope
Rogue black hole or start of a new galaxy?
Honestly i always found black holes very interesting n could never stop learning about them
*Gaia* = creates a 3D map of our galaxy (where stars are, how they move). *JWST* = looks deep into the universe’s past and studies galaxies, stars, and exoplanets in infrared.
🧐 The contalation of Taurus ♉..🥳☄️☄️☄️☄️ Was it moved closer to us or were we moved closer to it ,sense it can be seen now with a telescope 🔭 ❣️
So that's basically like a binary start system, neat. Bet there are tons of those laying around.
If it can be easily found with a telescope then how did we just now discover it?
The universe is so beautiful and scary at the same time.
