VS Code with vim motions is my favorite currently
Notepad ++ has so many useful tools for data refining quickly. Also the built in macros are super easy to build and toggle. Forever a GOAT.

I use Vim for pretty much everything these days. It’s very customizable.
I use kate, it's actually lightweight
I love Emacs for it's VHDL package
I use VS Code for building out mid-large projects, and use Spyder when im more brainstorming or working on a file where i want to see multiple variables values at once. VS Code hands down is the Goat IDE

VSCode is pretty great. A lot of people who “hate” it that I’ve met mostly hate it because it’s the most popular one to use and you seem to “cool” and “different” if you dislike it. People. It’s just a way to code. Not an aesthetic.
