Genuinely I can't believe I'm putting some of this stuff on the internet. If this isn't the most realistic new york city vlog you've ever watch then I quit lol. Living alone in nyc can be an interesting experience to say the least... let's start glamorizing the every day mundane energy!! I am willing to lead the 'messy aesthetic' for new york city creators. Your channel just got recommended to me and I am SO glad I found you. THIS CONTENT 👏🏾. Thank you for not being a 20-year-old millionaire influencer living off a smoothie all day while traipsing through her “day in the life” in SoHo. I always talk about normalizing actual life and as a fellow NYC-er (in non-glam BK!) I can totally relate and appreciate. Keep up the great content! ✨
Thank you for keeping it real. I am so so tired of seeing all the influencers who live in NYC just living up the great life, showing off what 90% of us don’t live. They are really stuck in their own bubble!!
girl, you have an elevator and a laundry in your building. YOU ARE LIVING THE NY DREAM (crying laughing face emoji heart) love the original content, I totally relate!
Honestly nothing makes me feel better than seeing the “unaesthetic” life online. The messy house, the uncool clothes lol, and talking about how hard it is to just keep up with life. I live alone and am out of the house 10 hours a day for work, and with a plethora of health issues, my house is always a constant mess. And then seeing every influencer’s in tact house and the time to work out and eat well and socialize always makes me feel like I must be doing something wrong.
I love this so much . The anti aesthetic. You had to literally blur out something on the floor. The garbage bags and laundry soap haul. this is my life. I'm 38.
This is exactly why I subscribed to you. You show the realistic REALISTIC New York and the reality of living as a self sufficient working adult. Your honesty is so valuable! You’re such an insightful human that I love your content nyc or non-nyc related! Just love to hear your thoughts. Looking forward to more videos!
As a native of Queens, I love this video!! this is the most accurate life of a typical New Yorker! Not those “aesthetic 24/7” videos we see on YouTube I get so tired of them, everyone always trying doing the same thing lol but there’s just something so special about that New York grit and hustle
I live alone too, except I'm 20 and live in England.. so kinda the other side of the pond, but I find your content to be extremely relatable. It's hard to maintain your space, cleaning every day is difficult when you work five days a week and struggle with anxiety. I feel seen. Thank you for putting out this content, it really makes a massive change compared to the glamorised and 'aesthetic' content you see other creators producing. And I think you are right, an average, messy life certainly can be aesthetic, you just have to reframe your mindset<3
Girl I’m 40. I spend all weekend gathering up the mojo to get myself together enough to do what you did. Thank you for sharing - the struggle is real
I love these non-aesthetic vlogs because they ARE such an aesthetic. It’s a cozy, homey vlog that just makes you feel like everything is alright, and you’re surrounded by the things you love.
This video was suggested to me by YouTube. I found it so relatable!! I don’t live in NYC, but I also live alone in a pretty small apartment. I too find it hard to keep the place clean and not messy, and to get all the things done during the weekend. I don’t think I have chronic fatigue, but I do feel like I get tired much faster than most people. So comforting to know I’m not alone! Sometimes I feel like a total weirdo and like something is wrong with me, because people don’t normally show this side of them online. Also, I like Sally Rooney a lot! Thank you for putting your content out there, wishing you all the best ❤
I just noticed the "glamorous" homefront picture in the thumbnail. Made me chuckle. At this point we've all seen a couple thousand hours of youtuber content and it becomes harder not to roll your eyes at the pattern of making everything look like as if it's a pinterest board or Vogue. You come across as authentic, sweet and determined to fight the slog. We can all relate to that. So don't worry and keep going. At the end of the day, it really is just about putting stuff out and nurturing that connection you have with the people who enjoy your content.
Loved it!! Real, normal people need to post more, not just fancy influencers. Coenzyme Q10 and Cordyceps should help with fatigue, but I'm struggling with that too.
Watching it from Germany, almost crying how thankful I am to see something so real and human. Thank you, thank you for filming it and sharing <3 Sending hugs and support to you!
3 DAY WEEKENDS SHOULD BE MANDATORY!!!!! PERIOD! This is such a true ass NYC vlog!!!!! Loved seeing this
I never comment on videos, and this may not get seen, but honestly I love these kind of videos. They're so relatable and I felt like you weren't shoving an aesthetic down my throat in a fancy 8K/mo apartment. I live in a big city, where a lot of people here are living in the fancy sky rise apartments; yet, I literally have to watch where I step when I leave my building bc homeless people shit in front of the bldg door a lot. It's nice to finally watch something relatable and know that as hard as it is living on my own, I'm not the only one who feels like this. Anyways, love your videos and keep being you! Too many people who vlog are all... the same, but I'm here for the relatable content haha (I need to know I'm not alone haha)
As soon as you said you've struggled with chronic fatigue, I felt so seen. Even as you were leading up to that bit and talking about doing the dishes and not wanting to clean every day, I had the thought in the back of my mind of like "oh, that's like me. it feels impossible to keep up with chores sometimes bc of my chronic fatigue." Mine is still undiagnosed, so I am not medicated yet. I don't currently have access to healthcare, but I am moving this summer to somewhere I will have that access, so I hope to find answers soon. But just hearing you talk about how it's gotten better gives me a small bit of hope. I can still do chores and things, it just takes me forever and it wipes me out every time.
I live in NYC too - in Washington Heights - and it's so nice to see people living similar lives to mine being depicted on YouTube!
As a born and raised New Yorker this video is so great to watch 💖
I truly hope your channel blows up because of how real you are. You're genuine, authentic, and a very sweet person. I hope all the best for you, Chelsea!
