Why not move the king from g1 to f1. The rook could move to attack but the queen would take it and put them in check mate. They could move the pawn from b7 to b6 to threaten the queen but they'd likely lose that match with the queen just moving back to protect the king. In which case you could then move your rook from a5 to a7. But yeah, your way gets there faster.

You could also move the rook to the same spot
