“There’s no evidence for that is there?” Ben Kentish debates Richard Holden on the Lucy Connolly case. Connolly was released from prison earlier this month after serving 300 days of her 31 month sentence. She pled guilty to inciting racial hatred after tweeting: “Mass deportations now, set fire to all the f****** hotels full of the b******* for all I care… if that makes me racist so be it.” #LBC #ukpolitics #debate #uk #crime

The only 2 tier policing in the UK is the fact noone from the Tories have gone to prison from defrauding taxpayers in no bid PPE contracts for their mates, donors, peers for vastly inflated sums and providing equipment that was not fit for purpose.
If she is raising concerns over the legal advise she got that is not evidence of a 2 tier system, it is evidence she needs a better lawyer.
Concern is not evidence, is it?
She. Pleaded. Guilty.
We don't need evidence, we have concern! Apparently.
Definitely two tier... innocent people get treated differently to guilty ones... funny how that works.
What a load of BS. I think Lucy Connolly’s sentence was too harsh but she still broke the law. She wasn’t charged because of her views. Nobody cares what you say between you and your mates in the pub or whatever. When you PUBLISH threats etc online, then you deserve the consequences. If I took an add out in a newspaper and incited violence, there would be consequences. Free speech is and never has been absolute, not is it without consequences.
She literally wrote out the tweet and published it, regardless of the legal advice its not a point of conjecture, there is no way she could claim anything other than having written the statement she was convicted of and posting it. Hence she plead guilty, doesnt matter what did or didnt happen to another person, she got exactly what she deserved for her racially aggravated crime of incitement to violence and incitement to riot.
The issue is Lucy connelly was to be reprimanded in prison until her court case if she pleaded not guilty so they told her to plead guilty thinking she would get a lesser sentence,Ricky Jones pleaded not guilty and got set free till his court case,Mike Amesbury got sentenced to prison but yet the next day an appeal was done and he was on tag but free, both are Labour MPs so these are genuine cases of two tier justice.
She is out on probation and with the public comments that she has made since coming out then she should be sent back to prison. She pleaded guilty to get a more lenient sentence and then is claiming she was a political prisoner. That sounds like contempt of court to me.
She is a nasty piece of work - clever though. Her inteview with the Telegraph was a Master Class in Whitewashing. (What they now call 'Gaslighting', i believe ).
Lucy also wasn’t allowed bail and Ricky was
That's the whole "Two Tier" nonsense put to bed, but the gammons on the daily mail still repeat it ad nauseum
She got off light.
This host is the exact reason why people hate liberals. The smugness is just off the charts.
"There are concerns." That's not a legal term. You mean "we've invented and encouraged some people to think," and it's not the same as there being an issue that needs addressing.
"There are concerns" is not evidence. People are concerned about Hydrohen Hydroxide in our pipes but it doesn't mean we should empty them all out.
If you have eyes, you can see it.
Gammons are thick.
Lol love how he ruins his own argument at the end by admitting Lucy had bad lawyers. These people are idiots.
