The brutal beating of Tyre Nichols has reignited a debate of racial justice and police reform. (Subscribe: https://bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe) Memphis, Tennessee, has a dark history when it comes to racial violence. It was here that Martin Luther King was killed five decades ago. It is here today that Tyre Nichols - the black man who died after he was assaulted by police officers is being laid to rest. The Vice President Kamala Harris is due to attend, as are relatives of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor - two other Black Americans killed by police. ----------------------- Follow us on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/Channel4News

How can it be anything to do with race when all 5 accused cops are black?
The barbaric nature of this heinous crime is utterly disturbing to watch. The senseless brutal beating of Tyre Nichols that lead to his death is beyond incomprehensible, reckless, disgusting, and most of all inhumane. The five x-officers, possessing criminal and gang mentality, who beat the victim to a pulp, deserve more than life in prison. These monsters knew no bounds, and these additional "accessories" or "accomplices" are as evil as these five thugs who were charged with murder. It is appalling, terrifying, and sickening that we have so many bullies behind badges hiding in police departments all over the country. I can't begin to imagine the pain and suffering his family is enduring. My deepest condolences go to Tyre's family and friends as they struggle to cope with their loss. May the Nichols family seek full justice. Rest in Peace, Tyre Nichols.
I was wondering how to blame the black policemen of racism 😂
The statistics show the opposite actually according to the independent office for police conduct. Maybe you should also look at the statistics of violent crimes based on ethnicity. I’m sure you’ll lie though.
This will not lessen until qualified immunity goes out the window. It's systemic and cultural the way police behave, they do it because they have a union and PD cover up these acts when they can
Victim of black violence - RIP 🙏
If the fact the Cops weren't white but this is still a racist attack - is too racially focused. The system isn't racist in Black White terms - it's racist and also sexist, and also xenophobic etc. in COLONIAL terms. A Colonial, violent power structure issue seperating the people for the benefit of the colonialists. Race is just 1 way it's borne out. It's Protestant vs Catholic in EU. Royalist vs Socialist. Poor vs Rich. "Alpha Males" vs Betas or Whatever. Aggressive Men vs "Passive" Women. Divide and conquer. It's a system of violence created and perpetuated by a "ruling" class. Plato's "Elite". Children put into private, separated education to create and perpetuate the Colonial, white central European hegemony and monopolies. Black on black violence isn't racist, but it IS a colonial expression. And Colonialism is the racist, sexist, xenophobic thing.
Is it really racial if he was beaten by black cops??
The police never learn do they
RIP TYRE NICHOLS💐
Rest in peace to the family of Tyre Nichols. I'm so saddest. May his soul rest in peace🙏
I don't think this was a racist murder I think the cops were looking at it for something else I think you really need to look another way about this I do agree about the racial crimes against black people are still significant, I hope after this all of these crimes are addressed just as quickly God bless this sweet angel Condolences to the family
The paramedics should be in jail, refusing to render appropriate medical assurance should be criminal.
Matt Frei not only doesn't challenge Lurie Daniel Favor's ideological explanation for what happened, but he also agrees and accepts it. Why? Her argument is based on critical race theory (which is just that, a theory) and she brings up slavery (that ended hundreds of ears ago in the US) as if it still has real significance to current police brutality. If it is true the "system" can be the cause of police brutality, then as we are all subject to the "system" no-one holds responsibility for their behaviour. When she is asked what can be done about it, she states the obvious that the police need to be punished for their brutality. Tyre Nichol's family will be grieving for him, and I doubt they, or anyone else, apart from those indoctrinated with CRT, will be linking their emotions to what happened to slaves in the US prior to the 1800's. This lady lacks true empathy and Matt Frei shows no integrity.
This is totally disgraceful.!
what's race got to do with it?
Yikes
Diversity is strength.
So sad .
It will happen again...a double amputee was shot & killed the other day
