Dr Bernice King (daughter of Martin Luther King), Professor Ilyasah Shabazz (daughter of Malcolm X) and Samia Nkrumah (daughter of Kwame Nkrumah) are all children of iconic figures who have played key roles in these struggles, and they are keeping their parents’ legacies alive. Both Brother Kwame Nkrumah and Brother Malcolm X are my politically self conscious heroes. Brother Martin Luther King Junior was also a great civil rights leader in history.
I pray that one day we realize that our destiny is in our own hands. Somehow we still have the names of our oppressors to this day and it's been driving me crazy lately When you think about it it's kind of inappropriate. We judge others by our own morality and that is why we continue to struggle. We preach love for everyone else but have not learned to love ourselves. Africa is our home and I don't believe that pro blackness should be anti-white but it's time to get the house in order. We continue to put other people's masks on before our own and we are paying for it. Kanye was kinda right, we choosing to be slaves at this point begging for justice and acceptance while we still have our captors' names and slavery is still legal in America while the politicians beg for Black votes. You have no black agenda here and while you are focused on America "others" are thriving in Africa. I bet if Wakanda was real everyone would be quick to run over because no one wants to build anything anymore, we lost a lot in the past two generations in pursuit of convenience. All this love thy neighbor talk is counterproductive, the priority is black children bc without them we have no future. The sad part is that all of us won't make it to the promised land the dream is too potent in Lala Land. You have to judge trees by their fruits, begging certain people to change is like begging a peach tree to grow a pineapple. Not all white people are ad but white is as much an ideology as it is a racial classification, same for all the other none black people. "Sue me in rooting for everybody that's Black!"
