Just yesterday, I was speaking with a woman who lives in subsidized senior housing. She said there was a "colored man" living there who had used profanity and she and another white resident filed a complaint with the management company. I asked her if she would have done it if he had been white. Without hesitation, she replied "of course not." I doubt that Mr. Rothman spoke with anyone living in subsidized housing in coming to his point of view.

There are two realities in America and therefore two strategies: Equity is giving everyone what they need to be successful. Equality is treating everyone the same.

Noah if you can't explain it in laymen's terms, it is likely you don't have a grasp on what you are talking about.

This debate is badly overdue on national TV. It's been raging online and everywhere else for a decade already.

Obviously, there is no simple, all-encompassing, uniform answer to the negative elements in American culture. Improvements will come only when we are all ready to acknowledge and accept complexity.

All men are created equal! ... but woman and blacks and native people and poor people are not men. Since the beginning America has been hypocritical. Noah continues the great tradition

Interesting conversation but but Noah didn't really offer any solutions, he just diagnosed the problem as reverse discrimination when institutions address discrimination. #snakeoil

Not only were they willing to bring up this controversial point of view, the variety of backgrounds and points of view of the panelists was great to hear. And the icing on the cake? Civility. No name calling, no pounding on tables, virtually no interuptions . . . . Amazing. This is an example of what America looks like when she's being great.🇺🇸

One of the best conversations on racism I've seen on mainstream media.....kudos to MSNBC for airing 30 min. of real discussion...We cannot afford to simply shut Noah's argument out. It reflects the desperate attempt to re-frame the discussion...to "pretty it up" ....to make it less obvious.....this has been the strategy for 100 years.....we write it off or ignore it at our own peril.....We are at this precipice because reason, rebellion, protest, and facts .....have forced the traditional power structure into a corner that is increasingly harder to defend. Noah is the textbook example of the 21st century argument to silence the cry for justice and equity..............
