Fuel is not an issue.

It's not the fuel economy, it's the volume level in the cab that gets me 😂

In the old manuals, if you had to run gasoline, make sure to mix it with plenty of oil. Gas was an absolute last resort.

8 mpgs is still not bad for a truck that size... especially if the fuel is basicly free... my 08 silverado v6 is only getting 14mpg (needs O2 sensors fixed so it's running really rich)..

I learned how not be a mech on these in the Marines late 70’s early 80’s. So simple it would burn any thing. It’s worst enemy, comm wire wrapping round the axle in a heavy rain while driving through water reaching as high as the floor board in the middle of the night in South Carolina to resupply an infantry Battalion in the field on Army level combat maneuvers. Lost the truck for 24 hours. Had to swim to the truck and dive to hook wenches to the underside. Had to double up on wenches with the loose mud and locked up wheels. The rear axles had some damage and the wheels just sat there. The driver had rocked the truck all night. We had that thing going by 6

The multifuel thing didn't really work out. As i understand you had to change a bunch of stuff to run on gas or volatile stuff. Burning oil is just standard diesel stuff. Any old diesel can do that

Infinite miles ÷ 8mpg × free = free And it's like most old trucks, it'll get ~8 loaded, unloaded, overloaded...

Hey man, you might want to put a little false tank near the top with road legal fuel. Troopers don't like it when you drive on the road without paying fuel tax

an uncle of mine told me a couple different stories about a multi fuel Toyota my grandpa had. something about it being a camper comes to mind but it might have been an engine that he just had in a peice of equipment though. That's about how accurate and trust I have in my memory

Nearly all old diesels will eat everthing as long as it remotely burns... hell i feed all waste oil my family produces to my old traktor(Steyr T180)😅 Slightly cleaned as to not upset the injection pumps but still😂 As long as she can suck it up she will run. Btw... old milk centrifuges do a great job at cleaning oil... not perfect ofc but good enough to get the rest out sirh filters and the are cheap...😉

Most car manufacturers would lose their minds if someone mass produced those engines now. Oil companies, too, probably.
