Telluride is great (but expensive). Before driving down there in the summer, though, check the calendar. They have several music festivals there, and it'll be super crowded on those weekends. Also, don't try to drive into Telluride itself. Drive to the nearby "suburb" of Mountain Village, park in the garage, and take the free gondola that goes into Telluride. Telluride is a 19th century mining town, and there is very little parking for visitors.
And I also recommend an awning for your travel van

The last three new cars I bought I ordered thru the dealer so I could get exactly what I wanted and tracked the car thru the whole process.
That's a classic dealership move. They'll tell you they have one in stock and then poof. It's all about trying to get you in the door. So annoying!

Mueller State park is a great place for some hiking with good views of the back side of Pike's Peak. And also then you gotta go to Cripple Creek for the Old westy Casino Vibes. There's a mine that you can check out too *at least you used to be able to when I lived out there. Also head south, and check out the Sand dunes and the Royal Gorge area
