Hepatitis B is the subject of a new video campaign designed to raise awareness in Bendigo's refugee communities. Bendigo Community Health Services has created the video in Karen language in partnership with the Bendigo Health Infectious Diseases Services and Hepatitis Victoria. The video explains what Hepatitis B is before talking through a series of topics to raise awareness. These include: My relative has hepatitis B, but looks very heathy to me. Is this diagnosis correct? My doctor says I have Hepatitis B, how did I get it? How can we protect ourselves from getting Hepatitis B? Can you take medicine and cure Hepatitis B? What can I do to keep my liver healthy if I have Hepatitis B? The video also provides information around Hepatitis C. Hepatitis Victoria and the State Government funded the video. If you would like to reproduce all or part of this video please seek permission by contacting the Bendigo Community Health Services communications department via email [email protected] or call 5406 1229.
