Breadfruit plants were introduced to during the reign of Daudi Cwa II, (1896-1939),the former Kabaka of Buganda, by Zacharia Kisingiri, Buganda's regent, who had been exiled to the Seychelles prisons for resisting British rule. The cultivation of breadfruit in Uganda signifies an adaptation to the environment and a shift in dietary habits, highlighting the connection between agriculture and the cultural landscape. The initiative has been Spearheaded by TriTrees in our educative & informative documentary Enjoy!!

Yes I love tri tress
I am Jamaican and have a farm in Fort Portal. I have planted six plants, and they are doing very well. Originally, the plant came from the Indian Ocean countries and was brought to Jamaica in the late 16th century. For the first fifty years, the slaves did not eat it, as they had not seen it in Africa. They used to boil it and feed it to the pigs. Now, it is probably our most cherished plant in the Caribbean. For us Jamaicans, it is our matoke. Every home in Jamaica has at least one tree. One tree has about two hundred breadfruit, and there are two crops a year. I cannot wait for my trees to start bearing fruit. I am hoping to roast it and introduce it to the local village around my farm.
Wow this is genius ❤️
