My partner is a tyrannosaurus rex and we found that volume knob comment hurtful....
A few things Redriven did not mention: Do not buy a pre 2024 model. Those earlier cars only have around 400 kg payload, which is a big limitation. The AC motor can also develop a bearing noise issue, and in some cases it needs to be replaced. One good thing is that OEM parts are easy to find on Taobao. They are often much cheaper and faster than going through the dealership. I broke my rear light and bought an OEM replacement from Taobao. Even with air freight to Australia, it arrived in about two weeks and cost a fraction of the dealer price.
"..speaking of activities that involve the rear end, how much you can handle ....... when it comes to towing" 🤣
The coffee table isn't as cool as the old CRV picnic table. Overall though they are pretty cool and great value for money.
Panel beater here. Spare parts supply issues are a cross the board. Doesn't really matter what manufacture. Sometimes cars sit for months waiting on 1 part.
15:55 As an owner of a Tank 300, i use that tiny drawer for my house keys
The South African version of the diesel is even better because it doesn't have a DPF, and it actually does have that handle on die driver side because it doesn't have the driver monitoring system. These are proving very popular in South Africa, especially the diesel. I bought one myself and I love it.
I have a Tank 300 Ultra diesel, and it's been pretty good other than the Transmission. I have issues with it taking off in second gear quite often. I haven't received help from the dealer or GWM, who say it isn't taking off in second. I have a video showing it does, and other drivers of the same model have also seen it. Flight Motors in the Riverland, who are the GWM dealer, took it for a 2 min drive, which it didn't do, and charged me for bringing it up as a warranty claim and stated that I just didn't know what 0kph was. When I contacted GWM, they refused to help in any way, basically saying that i am imagining that the car is doing it even though I sent them the Video. It's the worst Customer service I have ever had, and I am now having to pay for someone to service the transmission. Basically, the warranty isn't worth it unless the dealer is actually worried about customer service. When the lease is up, I won't even consider a GWM product because of it. It's a shame, really cause I love this car in every way, but if the transmission is already playing up and I can't get help, it's not worth it.
Speaking of parts unavailability, that extends even to Toyota. Smacked a roo with our 23 Kluger and the panel beater has informed us that some of the parts need to come from Japan and won't arrive until mid July.
Sold my Mitsubishi MR Triton GLS-premium, went to buy a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and drove home in a Tank300 Ultra Diesel........... those bloody indicators :-/ But I couldn't have gotten a better 4x4 than my Tank300
So check the GVM and the GCM on the GWM... got it.
I really hope these are good, because they seem to stack up well new.
I was only just thinking on the way home from work, I gotta check redriven for a used tank 300 review and boom it was posted today lol Fingers crossed its a good car!
No mention of it walking up Beer o Clock Hill with the tyres it drove out of the showroom
I would actually buy one of these it looks okay it’s doing enough it has enough tech and everything
Even though I don't really like the looks I think it will age well as it's kinda unique, timeless.
3:20 need this as a segment in any future reviews now lol
After driving 3x 80 series TD Cruisers over the last 25 years I just stepped into a Tank 300 PHEV. I have kept my 80 just in case but I don't think I am going back. Most of the common complaints seem to have been addressed. Indicators are great, no seat belt rattle. It still has that laggy throttle response and if you are wanting to quickly get in to traffic and press to hard the power kicks in and launches the car. With 300kw along with the tourqe of electric, this can be dangerous! This needs a Software update GWM!
Luscious interior. 😊
The tray to the right of the steering wheel is great for holding the cleaning cloth for my glasses!
