Anybody caught setting up steel wires between trees should be instant jailed for life for attempted murder EDIT: because some of y'all are thick - trespassing does not give you the right to murder somebody. Castle doctrine does not give you the right to set traps and there is already precedent on this matter.
Let’s be honest, when he brought up THAT forest, a couple of us thought this was gonna involve a certain internet idiot
The amount of ground that cougar made in the moment he turned around is exactly why you do not turn from a predator.
Just to clarify, the cougar is a young adult - essentially still a cub, but old enough not to be dependent on the mom anymore. It wasn't trying to kill but rather very curious as it's likely never seen a human before. Had it been an adult, more experienced cougar, this could have been much more dangerous. Always make yourself bigger, be scary, and/ or throw rocks
A friend of mine got caught by one of those wires, sliced his chin open. 40 years later he still has a scar.
“Cold case goes unsolved for 30 years” but also “we can’t accept these extremely suspicious clothes for testing unless we can link them to a crime we already know about.” 🤦♀️
As someone who successfully scared off a mountain lion from inside my tent, make yourself MASSIVE, make crazy loud noises, scream and growl, wave your arms, make yourself absolutely terrifying and they'll say, "Nope, not worth it" And leave.
Ok, the mountain lion one freaked me out, not seeing it first, but then at 10:20 slowly seeing it fuzzy then clearer as it closes by the man. That genuinely made me shiver.
12:16 Chris: "I'm not afraid of you" Lion: "Understandable, at least i tried. See ya"
Imagine someone stumbling across your body and your camera and in the video you’re saying “Hi Mr. Mountain Lion”
I'm surprised that the guy hiking didn't know basic mountain lion etiquette. That's like Hiking 101. One major thing was that he saw it before it attacked. If it wanted to attack him, he never would have spotted it. And the moose? Every moose I've ever encountered has been a bundle of rage just waiting to explode. (I grew up in Alaska, moose were EVERYWHERE).
Maine native here; Moose are terrifying from stature alone; if you ever get in a collision with one, that moose is gonna be fine, it's your vehicle to worry about.
I used to work as a Park Ranger and tragically one time someone hung themself in our park. It was absolutely haunting. I don't believe in ghosts but you feel something like that forever, so maybe that is like a ghost. It's probably one of the scariest things I've ever encountered in life.
8:48 this actually happened to a friend of mine in middle school and he wasn’t so lucky. He and his best friend were ATVing on his property and the neighbor didn’t like that they crossed over sometimes so they put up wire to block the property line. His best friend found his body. It was the day of our 8th grade “graduation.” It wrecked our whole town
2:00 "hey criminals, pleasssse turn yourself in 🥺"
"Where's the other one?" Is actually HORRIFYING. Imagine your life being in danger since you see something stalking you, then you suddenly can't find it.
The moose scared David so bad, he reverted back 150 thousand years of evolution and climbed a tree to stay alive. Literal return to Monkey moment.
The statement that moose aren't typically aggressive is completely incorrect. Bull moose are pure testosterone, and extremely territorial. They kill more people in Alaska than grizzlies.
5:13 local resident near there for about seven years. They used to take squads of people every month and enter the forest at night to retrieve all the bodies. It was custom (yes not making this up) to tie ropes to tress in a line to lead the team to your body. This place is real, and so much more terrifying than people understand.
I can't believe the guy who was being stalked by the mountain lion tried to strike up a conversation with it 😂
