In August of 2005, 5 friends attempted a daring swim into the secret inner chamber of Gollum’s Cave. They called this cave “The Cave of Death”. Unfortunately, that bold risk turned out to be a deadly choice. https://www.buymeacoffee.com/fatalbreakc I just created this option if you want to support the page. can’t believe that one girl passed out from hypothermia on her first trip to the cave, and then was excited to invite her friends and do it again! 😭 wtf!
the guy that stood outside realized how close he was to death but dodged a bullet just by saying "no."
After watching this and the Nutty Putty cave video, I now know that if a friend suggests exploring a cave as a "fun" group activity, then it's likely a horrible idea.
They had no idea how dangerous the cave was. IT WAS CALLED THE CAVE OF DEATH.
Holding your breath for 60 seconds while sitting in your car or easy chair, is much MUCH different than holding your breath underwater - while actively moving about. You dont mess with the water, man.
The ability to say ‘no’ can save your life.
Guy who stayed behind and survived learned a good lesson about resisting peer pressure lol. Well done to him.
If my body is ever found in a cave, it's because I was killed somewhere else and then taken there.
The person who waited outside was a genius!
Oh no way the "Cave of death" was dangerous. What an inevitable tragedy.
I will never fathom how holding your breath for 60 seconds, swimming through stagnant-ass water, and coming up to a 3 foot hole where there isn't even anything cool is a fun activity
Who the fuck jumps into a hole filled with water in the middle of the night and with no equipment? These people are crazy, could ve been 100% avoidable with some common sense. My prayers to the victims and family.
Given all the information, this is borderline suicide. - secret place called Death Cave - visit during late night - only one with experience passed out the previous time - not at all informed about the exact lay-out of the cave
Either that girl had extraordinary persuation abilities or the friends had supernatural trust capacity. That whole situation was clearly insane.
it is insane how some people can risk their lives just to get some fun. If any person tells me something like: "Hold your breathe for 60 sec and go to another side, there will be an empty cave, let's go there, it will be fun." - I can't imagine how I can agree on that. I can understand when people do such stuff with preparation, training and equipment, like divers, for example. But doing such stuff as a random young teenager is completely insane.
"they decided to visit the cave of death. They had no idea of the deadly danger."
What the... Being inside a narrow cave filled with water is LITERALLY a recurring nightmare I used to have.
Another case of going into a place that has nothing really rewarding inside, but plenty full of risk and death.
People assume “air pockets” are god-given safe heavens… but they forget that just because it’s air, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s safe to breathe.
When I was a child (7 or so) my cousin and her friends tried to convince me to climb down a precipice. 5 of them and me, so it was an adventure. I remember my cousin tried to sweet talk me into it… i looked down and felt immediate vertigo. I remember just giving them all wide eyes, backing away and literally just turning and running full speed to the house and as close as I could get to my parents. They kept shouting at me to go back. I didn’t. I made it to the house, was given some snacks and I just said the other kids and my cousin were playing a game that scared me and that is why I came back alone. Couple of hours later all the other kids came back and called me a coward. Great. I didn’t care. None of their opinions mattered in the slightest compared to the fear I had in the moment. We need to follow our common sense.
