Who else is wrapped up warm in their blanket, feeling the comfort of home while watching this caving marathon video?
Imagine going into a cave to explore and you don't even find a single treasure chest.
The beautiful thing about cave diving is YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IT…
I get panicked, sometimes, just taking off a hoodie.
Every time I see the crawling animations I'm hooked 😂
What I learned from these videos: 1. Don’t go into caves, 2. Be prepared for anything, 3. Overconfidence may get you killed.
There seems to be 2 types of people who experience caving disasters. 1. Johnny did everything right, but nature wasn't feeling it that day. 2. Tony, with 5 hours of caving experience (Crawling through pillow forts as a kid), decided to take on the deadliest cave in his area that even experts refuse to crawl through. He came fully equipped, i.e. wearing nothing more than nipple pasties and a thong, and a ball of yarn that he used to lower himself down onto a formation of sharp rocks. He told absolutely no one where he was and was found dead a few months later, having drowned himself while trying to squeeze his head through an underwater hole the size of a grape.
The stories are terrifying but the animations of them sliding through the tunnel is such comic relief it makes listening tolerable I can’t wait to never go caving
The biggest mistake is going cave diving in the first place
These videos are my safe space. This morning I found out I'm miscarrying for the third time. So while I'm laying, heartbroken in bed, I listen to these stories for comfort. No matter how bad my life is/gets, atleast I'm not, nor ever will be, stuck in a cave.
I 100% victim blame in these situations
The relief I feel when I watch these videos during my panic attacks is beyond measurable. If nothing else goes my way, at least I know I am not this stupid
That dog story was grotesque. What a horrible owner.
23:30 Wow. James was a TOTAL idiot, and an arrogant one to boot. Imagine sitting there in the dark for roughly 24 hours and still being too much of an egomaniac to respond when your friends come looking for you. Frankly, I'm surprised he had ANY friends. 24:24 "James didn't think twice ..." From the sounds of this story, he didn't think ONCE. Ever.
Wait no! Wtf?! That dude probably kicked that dog in the cave and left it because he wanted it gone. Much like the garbage monsters that will go dump their dog in the middle of the forest (or even city) to get rid of it. And then later on the same dog is found in another cave rescue?! Fuck no, that story didn't make me happy at all! I wished those first rescuers would've taken that poor pup home!
My son and I have been caving. I’m in a constant state of fear. Not for me, but for my 19yr old son. He’s gonna do it with or without me. I’ll die with him so he doesn’t die alone. Caving is serious. Ony go in a group. Never go in unexplored sections. Look for weak ceilings. Go prepared. Always have someone at the entrance. I was stuck once. The feeling of not being able to move is terrible.
I have no idea how I will die someday. But it sure as hell won't be in a damn cave.
These videos describe people wriggling through tight spaces in caves invariably named, "Dead Mans Cave" or "Devil's Maw" or "Guaranteed Death By Suffocation Cave."
Dying due to caving is one thing, but dying inside a fake cave? that was supposedly made for children? I have no words.
