Award-winning Yorkshire cameraman Sid Perou, who has travelled the globe on caving explorations, penetrates the mysterious world beneath the Pennines, and takes us where television has never been before. It's a world seen previously only by an exclusive and obsessive band of explorers - Britain's 20,000 cavers. The golden age of cave exploration falls well within living memory. Veteran caver Jim Eyres, of the British Speleological Association, relives the last great Pennines discovery - the Lancaster Hole - which allowed access to miles of river-ways, caverns and grottos beneath the western dales. Wow to the camera crew who had to lug huge batteries for their lighting
Insane😊
How did they never get hopelessly lost?
Can you image the health and safety nightmare of trying to film this today?! 100% Jim Eyre boxed in the navy. 👃

It's so sad that dumb people ruined so many of the features of the cave because they just didn't give a crap
These guys have so much courage , thankyou so much for sharing your amazing exploring
Love this style of tv. No over the top graphics, camera work or loud presenters, no distressing gritty content or weird “I’m in a polyamory relationship with a brick and a pig whilst making money on only fans” type stuff, no shock, no upset and not a reality tv star in sight. Bliss. Just some interesting people talking about interesting things.
Bellissimo. No ego, no oooooohhhh ahhhhhhh. I love British style. ❤
Nothing would induce me to get involved in crawling through narrow passages deep underground.
