There are many dangerous places covered on the channel. The most obvious of which are the caves, with their claustrophobia-inducing squeezes and deep water-filled tunnels, but the cave in this video is different. It has none of those, and yet, it might be the single deadliest cave on earth. These are some of the most dangerous places on earth, and as always, viewer discretion is advised. What’s stopping them from diverting the river Wharfe to explore the dried fissure and determine its depth? Niagara Falls was temporarily drained for the same reason.
Your cave diving stories are so exceptional
:56 Canadian detected 😂
I listened to this while doing other things and at one point I heard "iguana rich air" and my confusion was colossal...
you know it’s bad when you can immediately recognize the cave in the thumbnail—
New fear unlocked... some psychopath learns about that virus and goodbye world. Why the fuck is that cave still open to the public???
That first one lmao, I was imagining an elephant called Hank being like "its minerals marie, not mud, M.I.N.E.R.A.L.S, okay?"
The flesh melting miasma cave is metal as fuck and sounds like something out of a video game.
For those wondering what the Strid depth video mentioned at 15:00, I believe it's 'The Most Dangerous River in THE WORLD is HOW DEEP?! The Strid at Bolton Abbey' by jack a snacks.
I sent in a story suggestion for the Bolton Strid. Very cool to see it make it into an episode. Great show as usual.
But the Elephants delved too greedily and too deep... You know what they awoke in the darkness of Kitum cave...
Literally, we need to stop this insane tourism.
Guano used to be really important in the Americas for use as a fertiliser and even for the production of gunpowder during the civil war. It actually became highly valuable and wars were fought over the right to areas rich in guano. I always thought I’d hate to have the job of collecting it, with bats and seabirds shitting on you whilst you work, but this video has added a new dimension of horror to the job.
As a person who has almost drowned before, these locations make me uneasy
6:01 Genuinely sounds like the plot from 28 days later
In the movie Contagion...which is just a terrifying and great watch....the virus ends up coming from bats that jumps to humans..when it does it creates an outbreak that destroys large amount of populations all over the world..it shows the whole process of the CDC trying to manage and create a antivirus...the whole movie feels incredibly real... (Had to come back and say this might be what the movie was based on lol....the virus liquefies the insides of peoples bodies...and really scary fast....like less then a week...) Always great scary content from this channel... It never disappoints lol
The book 'The Hot Zone' goes into greater detail about this cave and the viruses in it super good read and this video was amazingly accurate and insightful
The top 6 to 10 feet is just bubbles in which you cannot swim or float, you just sink.
The first cave victim that infected the doctor reminded me of how the rage virus was transmitted in 28 days later.
*_"Strid"_* could also be old Norse, it means strife, struggle, combat, or battle in Swedish.
