The reason there are so many Toyota Prius in Ulaanbaatar is due to exceptional fuel efficiency for a city with heavy traffic, and reliability in extreme cold starting at - 35 celsius and colder.... The Prius has a reputation for starting reliably in extreme temperatures, often outperforming diesel vehicles, which is crucial in Mongolia's winter.

Mongolians love Prius because it’s fuel efficient and have no problem starting at -35c.

Nothing makes my motorcycling day better than watching Noraly's latest episodes then discussing it with my old friends over coffee and a ride. When I rode solo on my DR650 in Outback Australia, an old German guy and his wife walked up to me as I was saddling up and said, "Do you watch Itchy Boots?". We bonded. I rode from the UK to Ulaanbaatar in 2011. I cannot believe how much it’s changed and how easy it is to get there today. Back then (time flies!) none if this was there and ‘main road’ was in parts only. I was greeted by piles of trash either side of the roads. The smog and dust was thick. It literally was a different place! It definitely wasn’t what I expected!
