In this video, I continue my motorbike journey as a solo female biker through rural Punjab, India. While riding through remote countryside, a few locals warn me that itโs not safe to ride in this area. Their concern makes me question whether I should ask for a place to sleep in a village, or choose a hotel in the city... Despite locals their advice, I end up in a small village where Iโm welcomed with open arms! Local kids and teens are showing me around their home, giving me a glimpse into daily life in rural Punjab. Rule number one-Always choose a home where there are kids and women Rule number 2- never forget the rule number one
If someone is telling you that it is not safe, it is because they do not want you to face any problems.
Tent is not a good option in rural India. Ask for home stay and they will happily accept. Pick a home where there are women and kids. That is the safe one to stay. Enjoy your trip. Love from India.
In every village there is sarpanch( head of village) always go to sarpanch house he will solve your problem free of cost
The ladies did not allowed you for tent because they do not know about camping culture. They would have allowed you if you asked about to stay at home. The language barriers also a big issue.Punjab villages are very safe and people are helpful.
What would you do if a stranger asked you for a place to sleep? ๐ Ps. I see a lot of comments saying this is not Punjab. But it is: it's a village on the border with Punjab and Haryana, near Sardulgarh. So it's officially in Punjab state ๐๐ผ
"Can I find a place to set up camp?" โ do not ask this. Instead, you should ask: "May I stay at a family's home for a day?" You will surely receive help. This is because the villagers know nothing about bike riding or camping life.
Don't ask for tent MEIKA ... ASK FOR HOME STAY โบ๏ธ PEOPLE WILL HAPPILY WELCOME YOU โค... ALWAYS STAY WITH FAMILY ๐
You are in the safest place in India ,why people reminding you again and again because of you are our guest ,if something happens, all will feel shame,Now a days some drug addicted snatch mobile on the road sometimes. Thanks for your Punjab visit and showing rural life to the world .
Never ever ask for tent in india
Stay safe mam, in Punjab you can stay in gurudwars temple,
Your solo ride mieke will help many females to overcome their fear of travelling solo specially in rural areas of India and really you are spreading lots of positivity among them. Hats off to you Mieke
Turban guys are always there in punjab to help and protect , whenever you feel unsafe just complain them , and avoid travelling late night
Punjab is safest as compare to some other area
11:26 Good decision. Only stay with families where elderly, ladies, kids are there ๐
11:30 Yes, in Indian culture, a stranger man touching the arm of a woman is a big red flag. They would never dare to do this to an Indian woman. I don't know why they think they can get away with doing this to a foreigner.
It's a new experience for them, no tourist ever visits most remote villages in India, but one thing is for sure, you'll feel more welcomed and safe in an Indian village than in a city. Do listen to their advice; they are trying to help.
0:12 because it's Udta punjab there are many drugs addict in state of punjab. ๐ข๐ข๐ข It's heartbreaking that they destroyed thier state by themselves
Thanks so much for watching! ๐
I live in Punjab and our Punjab is absolutely safe but here in the village no one knows how to set up a tent and you can directly ask them if I can stay at your house for a night. You will find all kinds of people in all the states of India, good and bad. People of our country are not aware about hosting camping ๐๏ธ in their homes, especially the people of villages, welcome to Punjab.โค
