I bet you bet you. You will eventually find out that installing a ladder on the side of the vehicle creates an obstacle. An area you have to watch out for that's why I never put one on the side. The back is the best spot. And if you put one of those luggage carriers on your hitch, putting a ladder on the back would make it easier to get to the top. I'm not living in a van yet. But I did in my younger years and being that everything is outrageously expensive to this point. I am getting ready to go back to the van life. I didn't start out with a work van. I started out with a 2001 GMC Savana limited edition rot monster. Yes I did not know it was full of rust. It has body panels on it. I saw something on YouTube about before you buy a van with body panels. Look behind the body panels. Did not get the video until after the purchase. The entire event a foot up from the bottom completely rotted around the entire Van
