The Sprinter build finally got one of the upgrades I’ve been looking forward to most! Would YOU fit side pods to your van build? Or keep the factory shape? Thanks for watching everyone! Don’t forget to like, comment and subscribe to follow the full build series with me & Archie.
Vans looks beastly mate… all your hard work is paying off 😊
That bracing is top notch! I’m laughing… but hey… it works!!! Looking awesome!
Hi Rob. You’re making a cracking job and very interesting way of doing your build. Thank you for showing us all. 😊
Starting to really take shape now. Even though I have a perfectly functional van I can't help wanting to build another one when I watch your videos 😂😂 UTV
Looking good mate. Coming on nicely 👍
Great Job mate, especially in this weather. Possibly starting my own micro camper soon , some of it anyway 😂
Lovely stuff….wonder if I can get pods for my kangoo… 😂 Absolutely love it make…progress 💪🏼👍🏻
Brilliant one Rob. I was not sure about the L Track when you first mentioned it, but now you've explained it, I understand better how it works. Yes, very clever. Trust the yanks to come up with it haha. Build is coming together nicely. All the Very Best Wishes to Archie and Yourself Mate
The upsides to having lots of glass are the views and the light. The main downside is that every pane is a cold spot in the external envelope, that leaks heat like it’s wide open to the outside. I was surprised how much heat loss there was just with the two windows: side door / same location but offside. Openers are also an easy entry point for break ins, so consider sizings and heights carefully. The heat loss can be mitigated a little with good internal coverings. All stuff to be thought through before making a start… The MWB platform is such a good base!
It was a hot one that weekend, wasn't it? I burned up at Deckerdence in Birmingham... That design knocks it out of the park. The L-Track system is definitely the most solid decision! You've given me some GREAT ideas here... Question: What size and wall thickness are the aluminium braces inbetween the cross beams (the length is obviously individual...) Cheers, my friend! TTYL!
Cracking job you picked a corking weekend for the job. Bet you were glad you have a white van. Can I ask what pods you went for and also the L-Trac mounting plate for the roof please. Have a great week and look forward to the lift kit look .
That’s looking mint I’m enjoying the build . Is it the falcon suspension? I want that look , lifted up with the all terrane wheels , can I ask how mush the suspension was pls and when’s vid for that ?
Another excellent video Rob, I ordered some L-Track for mine after procrastinating on how best to secure the lockers (one of which has a microwave in) - is the L-Track strong enough without the aluminium mounts you put in (I can see how that helps with the ceiling) - assume you just made those out of U-channel aluminium and then bent the tabs in? Pods look great too! Coming on very well. All the very best, David
Hi Rob, Would you share which adhesive you used to install the side pods to your van? Im going to be installing mine next week so looking for a quality adhesive. Thanks
