Now you see why Thomas Partey should have gotten more credit for the Madrid fixture.

PSG are and will continue to remain a huge problem as the seasons progress for anyone across Europe. Even last season w/ Mbappé, they were vv unlucky vs Dortmund to not reach the final as they squandered tons of chances. Now, with the ninja-turtle gone, they are a proper team, every player is willing to press, work hard defensively and the entire team is playing some great football. That midfield 3 must be a cheat code. 3 players who all are comfortable on the ball, press-resistant and can keep the ball ticking is a crime. We wrote them off at the start of the season due to their poor form but now, they're firing shots back at all of us. W/a goal lead, I wonder whether PSG will try to frustrate Arsenal completely by just retaining and recycling possession. With that being said, Partey coming back for the second will be a huge boost and Arsenal did force some incredible saves from Donnarumma so, I won't be surprised if the second leg will be less than a war.

PSG were top class. Easily couldve scored 2-3 more goals. But kudos to Arsenal for adapting. That early goal shocked them but they got back in the game.

Ironically, Arsenal made same fatal blunder as few weeks ago Slot made vs PSG in both legs. In that Liverpool vs PSG game at Anfield and the first leg in Paris, Enrique using combo of Vitinha dragging Szobo away constantly, Dembele as false 9 who can directly spin and run in behind the defense on his own and what's happening in PSG own third. Because Enrique knew in order Slot's 4-2-4 to work, Liverpool front 4 has to be on the same page at all times when defending. But with that combo I've mentioned, PSG constantly slice open Liverpool time and time again throughout the both legs of that match because that combo has taken Liverpool's front 4 out of the game completely

Dembele in the false 9 role has been an absolute menace all season but man this is still a toss-up. 1-0 is nothing and PSG have shown their vulnerability to the counter and set pieces. Donnarumma was crucial this game with those massive saves.

Paris SG 's threat is that they still have individual players very good on the ball ( aside from Donaruma) and very quick athletic players from back to front. The threat of getting burned in a 1v1 against their front 3 is what forces teams to be cautious about giving away space. They also press much better as a team compared to the Mbappe and Neymar era. This new Paris SG has some of the qualities of Wenger's Invincibles.. Football technique married to pace and athleticism.

Dembele is pretty crazy until now despite all those injuries. If there are any creative players for you to trust in the final 30 minutes of the game, I will trust Mahrez, Dembele and pre-injured Marco Asensio.

I think the main issue was declan rice not being allowed to be as free as we are all used to seeing. In most games where arsenal win, he always has a freedom to roam across the pitch, either starting attacks from that left 8 spot or snuffing out danger before anyone even realizes. Partey was a huge miss because normally, he would be the one sitting deep, dictating how we start our possessions. Rice is good at this too but with our lack of threat up top, its way too important for rice to be further in attack. Odegaards inability to have even the slightest effect on the game was also a huge disadvantage. It made it so easy for psg to triple up on saka because you could already see they had no fear of what odegaard could do on the ball or with space, aimless crosses and consistently hesitant to shoot from him. In an ideal world, Arteta takes the risk and starts ethan but we all know that won't happen. That said, Psg is definetly the most in form team in europe and its going to be difficult to get something at the Parc, but with necessary tactical adjustments, we definitely have a good chance.

Exactly same thing Dembele used in opening up the defense against Vila in the last minutes of the first leg, drop deep, spin the defensive midfielder and lay a defense splitting pass..that led to mendez netting..this guys are crazy, lucho, what a coach!

As an Arsenal fan, I give full credit to PSG,but there movement, and incredible passing accuracy is unbelievable. This is how football should be played, they would walk the premier league at this present moment

Demebele was not marked and had the goal. Arsenal should rotate a player into midfield learn to stall their play and create spaces for saka. PSG were tactically and technically better. Expect second leg to be in their favour.

I believe one more thing lacking Arsenal is a proper striker...if there is a proper striker the winger has the confidence to pass the ball to striker or the Striker can create huge gaps in between defence...that can help the winger to have more view on the goal...
