Can we say that Hansi Flick has adapted his playing philosophy to tiki-taka and created a new possession-based attacking plan? Since his arrival, there have been 7 El Clásicos, resulting in 6 wins and 1 defeat.”

I think Olmo was a brilliant sub by Flick. He played further forward than Fermín and often was open to receive in between the lines, turn and play passes witht/to Lamine or Raphinha. I see a lot of RM fans complain about the Ceballos sub by Xabi Alonso, but I think, Olmos effectivness was a big reason why he was brought on.

I’ve noticed that Real Madrid starts in a low block, and it looks very effective against teams that want to dominate possession, like Barcelona. They try to create chances in transition, using combinations and the pace of Vini and Rodrygo. The problem in the first half was the lack of width on Valverde’s side he was providing almost all the width on his own. On the other hand, Rodrygo had Carreras supporting him. In my opinion, the main reason Madrid lost the game was when Güler came on and the whole system changed. Madrid started trying to play more possession-based football, which isn’t the best style for them against high-pressing teams.

It just came down to the team with the better midfield pairing. Barca are blessed to have Frankie and Pedri. They controlled the game from start to finish. Great win.

I also noticed since rodrygo was defending the left side, eric garcia (who played as a left cb, and being on madrid's right side) had so much space particularly in the first half, barca beat madrid's press effortlessly

That Xabi Alonso is playing with such a defensive structure hurts my eyes. In terms of his philosophy, I think he would be a much better fit for Barcelona or Bayern than for Madrid. He is more in line with Guardiola's style than with Mourinho's or Ancelotti's ideas.

Did his tactics make Asensio and Tchouameni miss 2 sitters in the last 5 minutes? 😂

the problem isn't Barça style in my opinion, they haven't made any special adaptation for this game, it's the same tactics, Raphinha starts the press and the rest of the team follows. The difference was due to Real Madrid's lack of talent in the midfield, I think Xabi couldn't have proposed any other system with the quality he has in midfield as if he tried building from the back and taking risks, Barça press (especially with Raphinha in transition) would have resulted in easy ball loss and devastating counter ! so it's more about technical superiority from Barça's midfield rather than Flick tactical superiority... we saw that against Chelsea and PSG this season, when the opposition midfield is technical, Barça cannot dominate as the risk/reward of high aggrssive press become negative I'm curious about your opinion on what you would have suggested Xabi Alonso does in this particular game and with players he has at his disposal to play better than barça as I don't think he had any other choice ( He was rather smart and aware of his team limitations and tried to avoid a big loss and hope for the best)
