This video explains how Roberto De Zerbi spotted that change, hacked gegenpressing, and created a new passing system that let small teams play like elite clubs. From tiki-taka to gegenpressing, from the 2019 goal-kick rule to the famous third-man and S-pattern build-up, this is the story of how modern football was broken and rebuilt. We also break down De Zerbi’s tactics in FM26, his influence on Pep Guardiola, Xabi Alonso, Luis Enrique, and why pressing systems are now entering a hybrid era. He is the same manager who top clubs like Manchester United shortlisted. - de Zerbi FM26 tactic: https://falconaire56.gumroad.com/l/ebtku - Tom Fox made my background music, work with him here: https://tfbeats.com/ - Business Enquiries: [email protected] 00:00 The Intro 01:00 The 2019 Rule 03:32 The de Zerbi Effect 09:27 The Experiment 10:37 The Cracks 11:10 Fight Against Fear #tactics #footballtactics #RobertoDeZerbi #deZerbiTactics #MUFC #FM26 #fm26tactics

Oh my days! I can't believe my eyes, THE GOAT IS BACK 😭
9:02 imagine watching so much footage on prime peps barcelona back in the day and now the man himself is learning new tactics from you
This is the system of modern football Xabi wanted to build at Real Madrid. But the system demands much more efforts from flamboyant kind of players Madrid currently has, something those players just are not ready to give the comfort up. So, there Xabi goes.
Brighton 2022/23 under De Zerbi was something else. 🥶🌟

Welcome back, Sir! We've been waiting for your videos all the time.
Pochetino used similar tactics with the US national team against Bielsa's Uruguay in that 5-1 win. Bielsa commited to the hard press from the back and the US tram quickly did 1-2's to open up the frontline
De zerbi is really good coach i remember how he was one of choice for barca to coach alongside hansi flick after sacking xavi I wonder how barca would look like if de zerbi becomes the coach. Although I do believe hansi flick was 100% best choice for barca
Farioli, one of De Zerbi's students, imported this philosophy to my team Porto and my god it is a joy to watch. We struggle against low blocks, but generally we boss the midfield and concede basically nothing.
7:43 De Zerbi’s system relied so much on Mitoma that it crumbled every time Mitoma got injured
Thats why Arteta also a genius manager. While Pep and De Zerbi hates long ball Arteta use that tactic (long ball) to counter Bayern superiority and won the match by 3-1. Also you see Pep played 60 minutes with 5 at the back to keep hold the 1-1 score vs Arsenal recently. Also he did played with inverted no6 to counter Unai Emery midfield superiority in 4-1 win. Worth mentioning even genius manager could make a mistake sometimes and unfortunate when the tactic didn’t go his way. Thats how tight the margin in modern football bc everyone keeps analysing and evolving time to time. Its a tiring job
Would love to see a video on Unai Emery's Aston Villa or Jose Mourinho's Benfica from you, keep up the good work ❤

:00 ... That's what they do in American football if the defense isn't careful- as soon as the defender releases the receiver so he can try to tackle the quarterback, the QB just tosses it over his head to the receiver the defender just released.
your animation and editing are amazing! it made me imagine de zerbi's tactics in my head
As I always say... Tiki-taka was created to slowly open gaps in the enemies defence, to CREATE SPACES. Specifically, space for the receptor of a pass, spaces in the final third of the pitch. The enemy is sitted deep in the pitch, in a low block, and you bring them out to a mid block and exploit spaces created behind the defence, or in front of them between lanes. But when the enemy presses you higher in the pitch, instead of staying in a low block, you don't have to create spaces anymore with passes, you don't need to temporize until something opens up. Just way the opposite, they are already pressing you, doing exactly what you want with tiki-taka. You only need to create enough space and time to one of your players to deliver a precise pass, but that's all. Instead of having to create space between the enemy defenders, you only need to create space in front of your first passer (usually a CB) so that he can actually pass into the space between lanes without opposition. But the receptor's space is already created as the players are all in the front, the only actual problem is the passer's space, not the receivers. So yeah, in order to beat tiki-taka, they forgot that it exists just for a reason... to open low-blocks and create failure in enemy defences. If you create those spaces yourself... then all that the other team has to do is just play forward. Now, if you ask me then how to beat posession football? Look at what possesion teams do and how do they defend. In order to beat a posession based teams, you just have to take away the ball from them. And for that, indeed, gergenpressing is great, but you have to also go to voronoi system to avoid leaving gaps. Divide the pitch in several zones and make each player be in charge of that zone, then assign individual markings upon that zone, and follow them... or not. This is the key. As you know, the most dangerous zone of football is the zone 14... When you're in positional attack/defence. But what's the most dangerous zone when you're playing that same positional attack/defence but in a high block defensive setting (gergenpressing). Exactly, the equivalent to zone 14 in low block, the space IN FRONT OF THE DEFENCE, as we saw in this video. That space that De Zerbi wanted to claim and send balls into. It opens up when you do individual pressing and don't have anyone that is actively looking for that space created. But... how do you solve this? You have three ways. As we said in voronoi diagrams, you have the pitch divided between the different players in it. So there's a player that is in charge of that zone of the pitch. The way of solving this is... Either you refuse to individual marking and do zonal pressing, so essentially, you swap markers even if you're working on high block, therefore having always someone in charge of that part of the field... or you keep individual pressing, but then you swap zones. I explain this. When the DMF is moved away from this zone following his individual marks, someone is gonna attack that space. Well, the idea is that the marker of that person anticipates and runs into the space before his attacker. And then, the third way, that is the one that Barcelona uses. Since you are playing 11vs11, supposedly, and the GK is the only "free man" on the pitch, you're then 10 vs 10. So you don't have a free man to attack that zone. But... what if you had it? If the enemy has a striker waiting to go into the space, you suddenly move forward your defence, and leave one man out of play, meaning you have now a free man since one is off-side, that can run into that acre of space. In case that instead of having a static Striker that tries to run behind the defence, you have a more mobile one, then you keep the individual marking and make one of your centerbacks run behind him. Problem "solved". Obviously, they can still, and will if they have good, technical players, open up your defensive system, and in that case, you need just to run back to low block, and do a foul, in case it is necessary, that allows your team to reposition itself. But yeah, that's the basis of how you defend that zone. Just either have someone there defending and cicle marks, or either swap the zones and anticipate to who's gonna run into it.
Plz make 2 versions tactical , FM26 and FMM26 😢
