So many times Astarion professes his love and appreciation for the player character(even unromanced he still says many of the same things which has cemented him in my mind as the best love interest) through both words and actions. Everytime I see comments accusing him of abusing the pc my mind plays the confused Travolta meme from Pulp Fiction.

Okay I was skeptical about Astarion being in love with Tav after ascension, but the illithid basically confirmed it. Ascended Astarion keeps his sweet soul after all!

aa’s love for the illithid is canon and undeniable. the fact that the illithid can sense actual love hormones in his brain is just incredible! what a detail 💖

Yep. There are so many instances when he expresses his love and is so full of intent to share and build his future with Tav. Ascended Astarion is also very protective and caring in the same situations (with Araj and Tav wanting to become a mindflayer) where Spawn seems kinda dismissive or indifferent (in my opinion). (I also read your recent post and I gotta say -) I think at this point people care more about their own head canons/fantasies than about what is said and shown in the game. It's like they insist on making Ascended Astarion an abuser/Cazador 2.0, because otherwise they couldn't play a magnanimous hero, who "saved" poor 200 y.o. immortal "from himself" and "taught him a lesson" as if he is a church schoolboy who needs any lectures on morality and "how the world operates" from people he's met a few weeks ago, and who are most likely much younger, immature and inexperienced than him. It's also insane that so many people are still repeating lies and misinformation like "he is disgusted by Tav", "he looses his soul", "he's only lying/manipulating Tav, he is not sincere" while the game dialogues strongly contradict all that. If they lived in their own information bubble, that would be one thing, but the fact that they are insisting that AA must be made abusive and asking Larian to bring back the "snuff kisses" (sorry, dunno how else to call that atrocity) - all this just screams "insecurity" and "dissatisfaction" to me and exposes the constant desire to spit in someone else's tea so theirs will taste better. I don't know why a simple thought - that Larian made two equally viable routes for Astarion - doesn't sit well with them, and one route should certainly be a narrative dummy to highlight another, the "right" one. BG3 is an RPG, turning it into an examination test on christian morality with punishing anyone who thinks differently to me smells of propaganda, narcissism and simply bad writing.

The fact that Lord Astarion persuades his consort not to turn into an illithid shows his love more clearly than any words ever could. This moment is deeply moving🫠♥️

No#15 still my fave. Its bittersweet or something, he loses a bit of his bravado and gets very worried, he just made you immortal, and yet he still might not be able to save your character from death. Another moment I love, while not in this video is when you lose to Orin, and bhaal sentences you to madness, it's pretty clear Astarion is gutted at the thought of losing his future with you. Also when you get free from Bhaal, he's very relieved for you and glad he gets to spend his life with you. If people want to argue about a slightly unhealthy dynamic in the relationship, fine... very well, but he definitely loves the player.

АА очень милый и лично для меня его любовь к тав неоспорима и состоит из множества слоев: обожание, забота, защита, покровительство, желание разделить вечность и власть, страх потерять единственную/ого, кто ценен. Мне очень нравится, как прописан персонаж и как в рамках всего лишь полугода игрового времени он меняется, становится более спокойный и т.д. И больше всего мне нравится, что при всем своем могуществе, иногда доминировании, он всё еще порой такой дурашка. Под номером 15 сцена, где он против, чтобы тав жертвовала собой и становилась иллитидом, он говорит "мы что-нибудь придумаем", но если выбрать вариант 4 у него такой смешной ответ "Ты спрашиваешь меня? Родная, я не знаю, кинь монетку, но даже не думай обращаться в иллитида" боже я так смеялась с этого. А вот сцену под номером 1 первый раз увидела сейчас, тоже забавная, стоит такой милаха ногти разглядывает, улыбается. Но, черт, почему "a bit less wrinkled than the rest" он же умный ахах за что с ним так😂

This makes me appreciate Ascendant Astarion more. I just hate that my mind is second guessing me to not actually play the game. I really need to work on that since Neil is coming to Comic Con and I’m clueless of my fave Astarion quote is.

#9. My Tav (who is not a goody two-shoes by the way) definitely already has plans in the making in order to make that world domination come true. It's going to be a slow burn, but with immortality we've got the time~ 😆❤️🔥 #8. A summer or winter home depending on where we are at. 😂 #4. As I giggle uncontrollably and kick my feet~ 💞
