Fitbit Air 👉 https://mikeobrienmedia.com/FitbitAir (affiliate link) I wore the Fitbit Air in 4 time zones, tested the sleep tracking, workouts, heart rate accuracy, battery life, and more to see if this $99 no-subscription device is actually good. I was surprised. Follow me on social media! ADDITIONAL VIDEO NOTES: FIT & COMFORT - Drying time is pretty good Stays on very well Small and discrete I think the charger should be the same as the pixel watch. Now you need to travel with two devices, or perhaps just USB-C Especially something you charge once a week, I’m likely to lose this charger HR ACCURACY Very good! R 99, R^2 98 Slight delay with intervals, especially when starting or stopping. Typical. This lag is best visualized with the gap chart GPS Accuracy - well this depends on your phone. STEP ACCURACY I woke up with 80 steps. It should be 0 I tracked 1000 steps twice. The first time, I got 967, then 994 I compared it to other trackers and this was never the highest or the lowest. I suspect it is faily accurate in step counting SLEEP ACCURACY When I am home, it tracks quite well and accurately reflects how I feel every morning Great at detecting when I fall asleep and wake up It accurately detected when I was sick and recovering in HRV & HR Recovery score felt less granular and was stuck at 15 for 3 days despite me feeling incrementally better every day 4 sleep quality metrics are fantastic insight Nap tracking - works but not very well While traveling, this was a disaster - missed nights and got so confused when I crossed the date line BATTERY I pretty much got exactly 7 days out of this Wake vibration - works really well in my opinion. Wakes me in a more natural way before my alarm Indicator light Auto tracking sensitivity - I walked a lot and many walks were tracked, but often not the correct length It learns from you Tracks many kinds of workouts You can manually track in the app (I usually do) but for walks and casual stuff, it is nice to have Does it work and track workouts when your phone is not around? APP TOUR WORKOUT SCREEN BUGS Sometimes has weird bugs. Shows me last night's sleep time + hr/hrv. Then paragraphs. Then two nights ago sleep time with last night's hr/hrv. Weird to show the wrong hr/hrv associated with two nights ago Buggy app - #2 - TCX files for weightlifting were always empty because there are no GPS data attached Cannot discard workouts afterwards (most of the time) ______

Is better this one or the amaz fit?
Why Nobody talking about the Amazfit Helio ? Which from my understanding without a subscription have more features than Fitbit Air, and integration with Google Health.
Does it track snap?
That’s crazy . I’ll get one
My FitBit Air arrived just today, and I'm still exploring it. It's replacing a Fossil Smartwatch that is gradually failing on me, so just in time. So far, the best thing about it is that it's _not_ a watch...and I can start to wear my old watches again. One thing I don't see in the new unit is a way to log my blood pressure...I may have to use another app purely for that, which is annoying.
I bought the Fitbit Air on launch day but I am sticking with Whoop for now. Surprisingly, everything about it is very good. Except way too much data and AI breakdown shoved in your face with the premium subscription. I constantly had to close out AI notifications as I like a clean, polished interface. I was excited about Gemini powering it but I think they need to tone it down big time. As for actual tracking, Whoop has a slight edge in sleep and workout tracking. They're both slim but the Fitbit completely disappears on your wrist unlike the Apple Watch. I do like Whoops app much more as it's polished and the AI is not in your face too much. I am gonna finish out the Whoop subscription and maybe switch back to Fitbit. Hopefully the app experience is improved by then.
Do the ollee smart watch mod for the Casio f91w the cost is like 70 something bucks if you do the mod and 99 if you get a premod
Do you have a tier lsit video coming up? Would love some thoughts of all the major smart devices ranked against each other in various metrics
I went spinning and found heart rate whklst showing initially low was not too bad, sleep tracking and analysus excellent
Was this review without the subscription?
In theory you can ask the coach to only send certain blobs of text. I’ve asked it to only send the morning/sleep recap and we will see if it stops spamming workouts and evening recaps
Great insight, thanks. If you had to pick, given their equal price point, would you rather recommend the Fitbit Air or the Helio Strap for daily exercise and sleep tracking?
Seems like google needs to do a lot of application updates until its usable
Mike getting hammered in the name of science on his free time, a true reviewer
My main issue is the App. I don't think I have ever seen an app in the last decade with such ugly UI, colors and buttons.
I want to know why i should get this instead of a galaxy or apple smartwatch?
Can you not just screen shot occasionally the data into chatgpt as a chat and get some updates on health scores
device is good, AI - does not worth it so far
Thank you for the review. I just discovered your channel today and have already subscribed. I also use a ResMed CPAP with the MyAir app. It would be fantastic if Google integrated with MyAir so sleep apnea data could sync directly into overall health and wellness tracking. Having CPAP data alongside other health metrics would provide a much more complete picture of overall well-being.
Does it measure vo2 max during cycling? Thanks
