This video contains promotional content for Lars Monsen-products, sold in the Sport Outlet stores and on https://www.larsmonsen.no The summer of 1999 was the first time I brought a video camera into the wild. In this episode, I dig up my long-lost DV tapes from a short, but intense expedition to Katmai National Park, Alaska. Alongside my good friend John Trampush, we explore one of the most bear-dense areas in the world during the peak of the salmon run. This trip marked the start of my filming career, and the footage shows a wilderness encounter as raw and mind-blowing today as it was 27 years ago. For those of you who have followed Lars Monsen's many TV series on NRK the last 25 years - get ready for an entertaining half hour! #larsmonsen #thelosttapes #alaska #katmai #bears #wilderness #rawfootage #bearencounter #expedition #survival #adventure

You are the best!
This was really fun to watch. The start of an era. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Amazing! Great video! It shows us that if you leave the bears alone they are nice to us to. Respect both ways. Your a hero Lars! Greetings from Lofoten.
Everyday I work towards becoming a bit more like Lars, you are a national hero.
This was really cool to see, Lars! It gives some nostalgic vibes from your earlier expedition years. Cool to get an insight into! 🤩

is it possible to share and translate your footage from "Canada på tvers" to English. if you have the rigts to that footage, it would be great to share on YouTube.
Thank you Lars ! This kind of older material is the best, i think 🤩🤸👍 Something so REAL and unic is saved in there, nature spirit or something 🧞♂️ Big thanks from your fan from eastern finland 🙏
Gull! Flere, takk
Takk for at du delte dette Lars, fantastisk å få en smakebit av opplevelsen
My friendly joking comment, praising the video has been deleted/hidden. What the fuck!?!? Did not expect shenanigans like that from Lars Monsen! Censoring fans is NOT a good way to create engagement.
I had the privilege to meet Lars in 1997 at katmai. When he and his brother were canoeing through the park. I was the bartender there that summer and remember the great stories of adventure that Lars told us. Glad to see your doing well. Our saying that summer was. Look there’s a bear in the river! As we’d always be able to see bears from the windows in the bar.
Dette var magisk Lars! Tusen takk for at du delte dette -)
Interesting. Thanks for sharing
