In this video, John goes into depth on what IO has delivered, how it stacks up against the initial State of Play demo, examines the game's audio-visual features and much, much more. Uncharted 4 is 10 years old and the presentation has barely aged. That chase sequence through the town is still incredible.
Uncharted 10 years later still a masterpiece...
Over the years, john became so good in these kind of reviews, its an absolute delight to watch his videos. Incredible work as allways
I miss these kind of videos
Nice to see a developer prioritizing a clean image and good performance for once.
Oliver's review and Linneman's deep dive have been a delightful package this week.
When I first got a PS4 Uncharted 4 was the first brand new AAA I got and I was blown away and expected more non Naughty Dog games to be at least around that level but I eventually learned that the excellent presentation and detail in Uncharted 4 was absolutely the exception and not the rule. It genuinely looks and plays better than a number of modern games today. Intergalactic can't come soon enough.
Uncharted 4 car chase scene is one of the most technicslly inpressive moments in any game. Its even more amazing that they did this in ps4 hardware
Always here for John's deep dives.
One of my favourite little details was in the club - the dual sense vibrates in time with the base of the music
Nice use of the Hitman Contracts soundtrack at 19:30. One of my favorite works from Jesper Kyd, highly underrated if you ask me.
That hitman contracts soundtrack..... goosebumps
23:22 Great point of distinction John made. I agree that big-budget competitive game development is now more than ever hindered by time, budget, and talent constraints. Still, it’s incredible that a 10-year technological difference doesn’t feel like that much of an experiential leap. I mean, think back 10 years from 2016 and compare how games looked and played in 2006.
John's deep dive videos are the best, lets go!!
Love a John tech analysis!
YEEEEEEES John!
Damn, seems like they put a lot of love into it
Yesterday whilst playing I turned on one of the water taps outside the hotel and the gravel around it started getting wet after a little while. The attention to detail is incredible.
