Teddyβs ass was on the line if not his try. Clogged the middle, got in the way of the halves, stifled the attack. Exactly what I thought was gonna happen when he got selected
Why is no one talking about how cold π₯Ά it was from Cleary that no look grubber in behind down by 20 for youngβs try π
No wrapping motion, intent to shoulder charge, shoulder makes contact with Coulas neck (high), also a head collision involvedβ¦ modern day rules = send off. Weβre not playing in 2010 boys.
Hear me out.. Does everyone agree send offs are f#%ked in origin. The disadvantage ruins the spectacle. I think they should have 10 in the bin, and the offendending player sits out the rest of the game. Then he doesn't get to come back into the game and has to be replaced with another player off the bench.
Reece slipped, Sualii tried to wrap. Kola slipped, Ponga no arms
QLD have such a clear coaching advantage as long as Laurie is there. Same lack of adjustments and selections from last season showed in game 1. Madge showed the way in picking Yeo at prop and Murray at 13 but Loz just doesnβt see it. Laurie is just a coach that picks his team and it seems like they donβt have much of a plan other than just βbe betterβ. I think another coach with this same squad would get better results
The part about the coaches body language! I noticed that too . Billy had the room, all eyes were on their leader. Laurie nearly had about 17 heart attacks in that coaches box then jumped around like a little girl at a theme park when Teddy got that try π
Iβll donate to MND research just to hear the bro tell the OG to βfuck up maseβ π€£π€£π€£π€£
100% sent off cause of the croptop π€£ Mase is the best
If Ponga comes in with his arms out attempting to wrap and still makes head contact, we all know thats probably 10 in the bin in the modern game. So when theres no attempt to wrap at all and its seen as a clear shoulder charge, something already considered more dangerous and outlawed, I think Klein has likely judged it as a higher grade of offence than a legitimate tackle gone wrong. Im alright with the on field ref calling it as he sees it and overruling a bunker if he feels that what he's seen in real time up close is more telling than any tv angle in slow motion. I wish they would do that more actually.
A loophole that QLD identified around the different origin rules is that if you challenge a high shot that happens 20 times unpunished under origin rules when itβs challenged the bunker has to call it when they watch it in slowmo. Cam Murray tried to do it also but he just didnβt get hit so they lost the challenge
Why is triple OG begging an average Teddy and is so linient on a very poor Critta?
Thanks for the microwave tutorial Scope π₯
Billy Slater When questioned about the send-off, basically said: βIt is what it is. I havenβt got any problems with it.β He was heart broken for his players but being a great coach that he is, heβs already moved on to game 2. Would Benji or Foz be ideal coaches for NSW? Asking because Iβm just not feeling Loz.
All these ex NSW players are only saying it should've been 10 mins only because NSW won. If Qld ended up winning they all would've said it should've been a send off ππ€¦ββοΈ
Normally agree you with scope but I Have to disagree with your take on the send off. For me the major thing is ponga flew in recklessly with his arm tucked which you can sort of understand if it was right in the corner at the try line but it was 30 meters out with the man already tackled. Completely reckless by ponga if blokes are not getting sent of for reckless illegal plays that result in another player being knocked out and removed from the rest of the game then what exactly is a send off. Ponga had every opportunity to at least open his arms in which case I could stomach it being a sin bin
Disagree, that is a clear send off for me. Mitigating circumstances are if not entirely ruled out, largely so because of the lack of intent to make a regulation tackle. You try and make a legal tackle and things go wrong, then mitigating circumstances come into it. Even if I agreed that it was head on head only (I donβt, I think there is clear contact with the shoulder) he has gone in for a shoulder charge and made contact with his head. It is a clear disregard for the safety of the player. Itβs all fun and games and we love to cheer and boo, but that could genuinely cripple or kill a bloke. Itβs not ok, ponga only has himself to blame and he definitely shouldnβt be playing this weekend.
Pretty sure you guys gave Kalyn the ok to tackle with some force in the previous podcast π. Love the show, keep it up
Barnett put his not the same yet after the ACL Jackson Ford in has more leg speed
the emotion got to klein in that moment... hmmmm yeah klein already made his decision regardless of what butler had to say...
