Mechanic here can’t remember how many swivel hubs I’ve had to do in my time and definitely not one of my favourite jobs a lot of mess and time

Rust converter / phospheric acid. Could even look up a mix of tannic acid, phospheric acid and alcohol mix is supposedly best ever. Nevwr used myself so not rust proofing advice.

People make this look so easy then I go out and the first bolt snaps on my truck

The min you said fun and afternoon I pictured mates asking me to go through that big deep mud hole and remembered all the times I rebuild my front cruiser diff, and I always have ran extended breathers I don’t even have a winch on my cruiser anymore because it discourages my mates from going in mud holes too and if they do they dig themselfs out and rebuild their own diffs.

Are we out here measuring drag for wheel bearings? I always set open sets by hand. Seat fully and back off between half and whole nut point back off. Force cone sets get manufacturer spec and send. Not knocking the process, never seen it. More common in Australia maybe?

I would never go through all that hassle just to reuse the old discs. Should have swapped them out while you were in there. Imagine a month from now you've got brake pulsation there goes another arvo messing around with the bearings again

Yea that job sucks 😂. It aint no lemon anymore. I had a UFI tune bargain for only $1000 at united fuel injection. I brought it last year bit not going to use it.

You don’t “have to break brake lines off” Brother man. There are techniques. That’s like saying we have to trip off the porch first thing in the morning on the way to work. Maybe someone does But nobody skilled and paying attention has to do it😂

Yep 100% confirm this video is the real deal, doing this on my 80s and ya def get over it! Replacing my stub axles at present, but tearing down the whole enchilada so its done and done right, got to love grease!
