Its incredible how judgmental most people in the comments are. Bublik, alongside many more top players, wants to fight for a bigger piece of the earnings. The tournament organizes everything, the players do their part and they get 15% of all the income, compared to 50% in most other top sports in the USA. And people in the comment section seem to mind that they want a bigger %. Most people are seriously meant to be bee workers for a big company that exploits them for its own earnings.
For everyone not understanding what he means( i see from comments) - players are standing up for themsevels recently, they are trying to get the cut to players from all slam reveniew to be bigger.
Let's see who actually has the spine to boycott because of the prize money.
In a sport where the player has to pay for everything - food, Hotels, coaches, physio, flights, family etc etc. One bad season or even a relatively good season - and you could break even or lose money. Inflation, tax, currency conversion. And then the lower ranked players who don't consistently get to play the bigger events that give the points and enough money to continue. Compare that to pretty much any other sport where they get a bigger percentage of the revenue and all their expenses are paid for. They don't pay for their coach, their flights, food and accomadation while playing away from home etc. The irony is - djokovic and some other players tried to change this year's ago - regardless of the success of it, everyone pretty much bagged djokovic for this and now the players are calling for a union etc. It's pretty funny. And I highly doubt the players on mass will have the guts to boycott. And it seems unfair, because someone who's ranked 110 could get a decent pay check, maybe one of only 4 they will get all season and it again seems like the lower ranked grinders will feel the consequences more harshly than the top players. Very much like any government or corporation style set up. Power to the players, power to the workers, power to the people. How long will.we collectively accept the massive inequality? Some very few people are making a loooootttttt of money! Irony is it's only numbers on a screen thst can be wiped away with one click of a button haha
2:43 Bublik checked the fact sheet! 😉
Nobody ever complains about the governments stealing the money in taxes as if they earned it. They don't. Get rid of the taxes, and you all can play for lower prize money.
I get that the tour is tough for players outside the top 50, but for guys like Bublick who have already made millions? What's their basis of comparison? They'll never make out like NFL or NBA players because of the comparative size of the markets. If they are standing up for the lower ranked players, great. If it's a cash grab for themselves -- not great at all.
If you're not out there they'll be plenty more to take your place.

So for bublik it's not about up-and-coming players struggling financially , it's about prize money for the winners being too low. Interesting
They are all multimillionnaire but they dare to say they have not enough money ?!! It is pathetic.
They should blame it on Joe Biden, Netanyahu and Trump
If the prize pool increases, the players who stop in the early rounds would earn much more. That's the key point here. You can earn much more even if you stop in the second or third round of qualifiers, or even after reaching the first round. Right now, you can earn 100k, but with the increased prize pool, you could earn 200k or even 300k, which is massive step up!
good win but wont fo far as always in bigger tournaments
i’m confused. almost every player that has been complaining receives appearance fees literal checks just for showing up, sponsorship checks, big exhibition match checks, lucrative grand slam prize money even if you lose in early rounds. i’m struggling to understand how this equals lack of respect for the players
I think Bublik won't be the same after the Pokemon issue.
this is so ridiculous that these overpaid tennis pros play the victim and say it s about fairness. jannik sinner is a joke. my opinion: reduce the salary for the winners and finalists/semi finalists, increase it for the earlier rounds so players without a strong financial and family background get the chance to train professional for a long period.. this is a fair..
