In Dark Souls trilogy and Elden Ring, Fromsoft has a habit of putting an extremely hard dragon boss fight in the DLC. A cool detail though is that the DLC dragon in each souls game is nerfed before you fight it. You never truly fight one at full power

In the lore all of the dragons are crazy monsters. It took the gods to deal with them and only after they were betrayed. A full power dragon fight would be crazy though.

Kalameet can be beaten without asking for help from Gough and Gough even has a voice line for it Also Gough has been blinded because someone poured tree sap in his visor I believe it's implied that it happened recently so that legendary Big boy is doing it off of vibes and by sound and smell alone and he hasn't had much time to adapt to being blind or to clean out his helmet

it's possible to beat kalameet at full power but Miyazaki never thought we could and that's why you won't get the victory screen
