If you do his quest, you also revive and heal the mute Fire Keeper from Firelink, allowing her to speak again. She has some nice lines and thanks you for your decision to sacrifice yourself to link the fire if you talk to her before fighting Gwyn. You also get Lautrec’s armor set if you kill him in Anor Londo.
