Yeah one thing I’ve noticed with these sorts of ‘All in one’ weapons, similar to that one that allows sorceries and incants, is that their drawback versatility is just abysmal scaling

They're so afraid of making these types of weapon strong, that mediocre weapons out scale them by just existing, its insane.

Weapon catalysts should've been an entire category

If Carian Sorcery Sword has a million fans, then I'm one of them. If Carian Sorcery Sword has one fan, then I'm THAT ONE. If Carian Sorcery Sword has no fans, that means I'm dead. (the invader killed me)😤

It may be bad, but it's cool, and that's reason enough for me to make a build around it.

I'm still gonna run weapons like that. They're extremely unique, so I'm gonna have fun. I'm in that stage of Elden Ring where I'm just making my own builds and combinations with stuff no one uses. Even Crystal Knife can be used well in a Dual Dagger Build.

I honestly feel like they had big plans for these gimmick weapons but and this when the tinfoil hat comes on I feel like Bandai namco was really pushing them to just release it the way it was

It doesn't even have the mechanic that the ds3 catalyst/weapons have, where you can almost seamlessly mix spells with melee

What it lacks in power it makes up in style and being cool. Put a Maine Gauche with parry in the off hand and mix up the parries, powerstance attacks and Carian Slicers and you'll be the coolest spellblade out there

I remember right after the dlc dropped they buffed the int scaling to S because the spell damage sucked and IT STILL SUCKED, yet no more buffs :(

Hot take: The Carian Knight's sword should have been able to cast spells with it's heavy.

Fromsoft has a long history of having cool concepts and just purposefully making them really bad.

there was a weapon like this in dark souls 2 and you could infuse it and buff it with magic and it hit like a drunk stepdad. i think they should buff it to be actually good but i doubt they ever will.
