Yellowstone is changing. While many recognize this landscape for its towering peaks and thermal wonders, the true lifeblood of the region is moving beneath the surface. For centuries, the rivers and streams of the American West were maintained by a master architect that was nearly hunted to extinction. Today, the balance of the entire ecosystem rests on the shoulders of the beaver. This documentary, hosted by Dennis Quaid, follows the journey of a beaver family as they engineer survival in a world of plunging temperatures and dwindling water. By mimicking these natural engineers, conservationists are finding ways to combat drought and restore the vibrant, verdant valleys that Lewis and Clark witnessed over two centuries ago.

Cute animals 😮
Just further proof that everything created has a purpose and when one no longer exists, it impacts so much more. ❤
I can tell even if these line were wrote for him to say he feels it like we all should! Well done!
' Dennis Quaid is here!' 😂😂😂 I can't help it. I laughed so hard when he did those skits on the ELLEN Show. Such a great man. Helping out strangers during the California wildfires. Heart of gold. 🫶
I love beavers and what they do. Thank you Denniis Quaid for this excellent video narrated by an excellent man.
Here in New England we've always have had an overabundance of bevers in our streams and wetlands...
Beaver .....ancient story in Blackfeet country.
Excellent awareness campaign DQ😊😊😊
How can anyone not see the Divine handiwork of God in seeing how this amazing creature works as a logger, a surveyor, a builder, a stone mason, an engineer, , and a 'Keystone' species ? Now we also know they help against flooding, wildfires, and droughts. Amazing animal!
Outstanding and very educational. Go beavers!
Millions love Dennis Quaid.
Thank you dennis.....
Dennis, you and Randy are two of my most favorite actors. Don't ever change.
No country outside of Africa or the Middle East is still growing in population. No one is replacing themselves anymore. The US fertility rate in down to 1.63, far below replacement of 2.1. So one of my favorite actors, Mr. Quaid, is incorrect early in this presentation when he says more and more people are putting pressure on the environment.
Thank you Mr. Dennis Quaid, loved the video and ALWAYS have enjoyed your movies.
Your commentary, Mr. Quaid, was beautiful and poetic. For me, it reiterated the necessity of balance in nature. That includes OUR part; to cooperate! Reintroducing wolves or rattlesnakes to flesh out the imbalance of a place also shines the spotlight on man's role; neither overwhelm nor forsake. The settlers must have been overwhelmed by the untouched abundance. Their naivety decimated much. We are learning. Our responsibilities now include keeping the greed and/ or corruption from breaking that altruistic endeavor. 😊
Beavers! Their population restoration is the cheapest, most efficient method of habitat renewal. Love these animals.
The man who hired me as the first NH black bear biologist was Henry Laramie. In the 50's he invented the bever pipe or now called deceiver to help keep beaver in a pond by lowering the water level to an acceptable level. Thus, saving the beaver. Herny was a visionary for wildlife. Was without a doubt the very first black bear biologist in North America. By the mid 1960's he figured out how to successfully tranquilize bear. Henry began trapping and moving nuisance bear rather than killing them. Probably nearly a decade before any other state did so. Beginning in the 70's eastern bear biologist met somewhere every other year. With different states or provinces hosting. Every one of us were the first bear biologists for our states or provinces.
What do you think of canoe rental companies cutting tree falls out of the river in the National and State forest in Michigan?
You guys probably don't like "Kenoslavis" on Youtube. He tears down beaver dams every day.
