Adding radio to my Cyberdeck computer - the goal is to listen to local baseball games while viewing the real-time play by play on screen. Running into a slight issue, however, that our SDR receiver ONLY works when I'm physically touching it! my child, you are the antenna
you dont need an antenna, you are the antenna
can u try out the Cubonic H6 Laptop cooler??
You need to install a grounding wire.
One thing you could try and aux cable and put one end near the usb receiver and put the other end close to a window
Connect the wire to the ground like literally the ground And I mean can I do wire to it and then to the ground😊
Needs ground Connection maybe. ? 😅
Set a rock on it
is it SMA or RP-SMA??? Does your antenna have a pin inside the connection hole or does the radio device itself have it? one of them must have that pin or else its not making any connection. SMA vs Reverse polarity sma.
Well as a fellow beginner radio/electronic guy, the hands make your body conduct as an antenna. That means the antenna is YOU when you touch it.
As someone who deals with issues adjacent to something like this in cars all the time, im calling that its a grounding issue. Ground the case of the module, to the usb housing and or the pc chassis.
Hi, viewer here. Loved the background music. No idea why it’s doing this. Probably ghosts or aliens. Or alien ghosts.
custom raspberry pi projects with the keyboard they made that is a computer is awesome
GROUNDING, UR CONDUCTIVE
I attached an antenna and it did nothing! Proceeds to use a 2.4/5 ghz wavelength antenna to pick up AM radio 🤣
You are the antenna, I found this out with snap circuits-it means your receiver isn’t strong enough.
The WiFi antenna uses a reverse SMA connection, but the SDR uses a standard SMA connection. The center conductor in the cable is never touching the connector on the SDR
You got all of the HAMs sad with this one including me
OBVIOUSLY tape a hotdog to it.
You may need to put a copper shield onto the dongle's DSP chip. That is the answer why you are being the antenna.
