AI is getting much better at hacking and fast. Sky News technology correspondent Rowland Manthorpe examines new evidence showing how models including Anthropic’s Mythos and OpenAI's GPT 5.5-Cyber are becoming dramatically more capable at cyber-attacks. Using data from the UK AI Security Institute, the Center for AI Standards and Innovations (CAISI) and others, he explains why this is no longer just a warning about one powerful model, but a much bigger industry-wide shift. He also looks at why open-source models mainly coming from China could soon put these capabilities into much wider circulation, raising the pressure to patch vulnerable software fast. Don't worry about it the Terminator will save us.
Fantastic piece there.
So release and creating caos...
We are already seeing people take things into their own hands; their moral take on injustice, ideologically captured.. With AI, i think we will see more of these 'average' individuals becoming more problematic and dangerous.
What if AI adds some secret code in there 😂
The problem has come from cost cutting and the desire to everything at our finger tips. Go back to dedicate networks which are not interlinked, go back to paying programmer with time to do their job correctly, go back to dedicated OS for running dedicated software. Far too much TCP/IP , too much windows, too much desire to have flashy integrated systems
good reporter
Everyone is on the beach enjoying the sun and these a banging on a about some computer software 😂
Nice to see a new enthusiastic presenter
