Sony has officially announced its 2026 BRAVIA TV lineup, led by the flagship BRAVIA 9 Mark II and the more accessible BRAVIA 7 Mark II featuring the company’s new True RGB LED backlight technology. But perhaps the biggest surprise is what Sony didn’t announce: there’s no brand-new OLED TV for 2026. Instead, Sony appears to be doubling down on RGB LED backlight technology, with major emphasis on HDR brightness, colour volume, anti-reflection performance and real-world living-room viewing. The BRAVIA 8 Mark II QD-OLED will continue in 55-inch and 65-inch screen sizes, but if you were hoping for a new 77-inch Sony QD-OLED TV in the UK this year… unfortunately you’re out of luck. Some regions worldwide may continue selling the 77-inch Sony A95L while inventory lasts, but in the UK it appears to be disappearing from the lineup altogether. In this video, we discuss Sony’s new BRAVIA 9 II and BRAVIA 7 II RGB LED TVs, their specifications and features, plus what Sony’s 2026 strategy may reveal about the company’s future direction for OLED. Crazy to think they first tried this 20 years ago with the xbr W RGB tv. Never forget how thick that was back when I installed it in one of my demo rooms when I was at a boutique tv/hifi shop. Alot of these technology names were there back then.
What happened to Bravia 10?
I have a 75” Sony Bravia Mimi LED TV and every time I turn it on my jaw drops. It is gorgeous.
i like new technolgies but i love Oled so much. it looks so good that im almost skeptical it cant be beat. ill wait if the true RGB comparison. the only thing i can think of is for gaming. some gaming in dark area you cant see players while having HDR on. maybe this could be the solution?
I don't like matte coatings cause they lose depth and make it the image look rougher but I think they're doing a great job innovating. Eventually making a matte coating thats as good in picture quality while no reflections should be the goal
because they're TCL now?
I have a LG OLED 55” TV and simply do not understand the current fixation on brightness! I only have my TV brightness on 50/100 so I’d much rather have proper true blacks and perfect colour at any viewing angle than artificially bright screen. My OLED is fine in a brightly lit room even when its brightness is set to 50/100!

So if I wait another year will I get more than 4 HDMI ports?
Only 1530 dimming zones? Im sure its got some blooming.
Of course what we want to see is Sony Bravia 9ii vs TCL X11 SQD.
Is this more about technology going forward or is it more about who is now manufacturing the panels
The color crosstalk is the only downside to this RGB technology of which TCL has managed to breakaway from
I'm yet to see something compare to my S95F in an eye test besides the G6 which is incredible too, the Bravia 9 II is good but just doesn't compare to the OLED's!
The UK price of the 115" is practically the currency conversion from $ to £ of the USA price, which is actually good. But the 65" is the currency conversion plus 30%, the 75" is plus 25% and the 85" is plus 13%! The 115" price proves that they can offer TV's at the same price as other countries, but shows they understand the UK market and take full advantage!
Samsung isn't even using Samsung Display panels in 4 out of 6 available sizes on their new S90H. Doesn't bode well for the future of QD-OLED...
So what is the audio difference between 7 m2 and 9 m2
Let's say I can manage only 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, but this means it's a 2026 flagship shipping with an already outdated chip. I wonder if and how much of Dolby Vision 2 is supported...
, how does the Sony RGB TV perform with the color bleed tests you did in your other clip with the TCL panels side by side?
They wouldn't allow filming in the one comparison that would likely make the TV look bad. Makes sense.
