The Sony Bravia 7 II Might Be TOO Good -- Official Review

Tech

Sony’s Bravia 7 Mark II might be one of the biggest TV surprises of 2026 so far. This RGB MiniLED TV delivers stunning accuracy, impressive HDR brightness, strong BT.2020 performance, and that unmistakable Sony image quality, all while landing far closer to the Bravia 9 II than I expected. But there are still a few quirks hiding under the surface. In this review, we break down: • RGB MiniLED performance • HDR brightness and color volume • Sony’s white-backlight mode surprise • Off-angle viewing and blooming • Accuracy measurements and BT.2020 coverage • Whether the Bravia 9 II still justifies the price jump And, yes, we'll talk about whether Sony made this TV too good. Thank you for your video explanation. Can I ask you please Bravia 7 II has the same problem with reflection as previous Bravia 7 or is better?

I always find myself when watching your reviews thinking, “wow, that TV looks incredible…and then have to remind myself I’m looking at my TV, and it of course can only look as good as my TV can look. And frankly, it reassures me. I very much appreciate how great your videos look.

4:19 I love that Sony went with a center stand for the TV. It makes it easier for me to find TV stand to hold the TV when they have a center stand instead of the wide feet.

TVs are no longer even close to being affordable anymore. Those prices are insane.

Ok now, Caleb... did you purposefully leave those tall skinny new speakers off the "in the background" list? lol. (didn't think we would notice those things?) GoldenEar?, or Martin Logan?

Caleb would you put out how to fix the red issue? Also could you go through the settings panel on the new sony tv's and explain what they do? You didnt show very many scenes from movies or streaming content and point out what your seeing that is different from other tv makers. Would you consider doing something like that? You used to do things like that before. Thank you, this review feels rushed a bit, anyway great job on the sony info.what is the remote like? Your hisense review was alot more indepth, shame been waiting all yr for sony to show what they have.

I am a bit of a pleb who still likes a good TV. Basically I don't care if it is technically superior if I can't see the difference without hooking up a colourimeter etc. Maybe I could see a difference side by side but then things like burn in etc.come into play. And the big question, is it worth the premium for 10% more quality? I am totally satisfied with my gen 1 Bravia 7 and don't want for an OLED or some other fancy tech. Functionality comes into it such as compatibility with headphones and ease of use with the remote etc and how responsive the O/S is. No matter what,, I still think Sony has the best panels. Still interested in the advances in technology though.

Do they have the same POS TCL screen that when you watch something with a white background or gray background, you're going to see the dirty screen door effect?

Love that you’re filming your videos in HDR lately. It looks incredible on my OLED IPhone.

Sony heard the warning not to stop making OLED tvs or else. Thank you Sony for listening to the fans.

I wanted Bravia 9 but in 65 inch. Unfortunately that size didn’t come to Australia. So I hope the 65-inch Bravia 7 ii will be available in Australia and a good enough upgrade from my X950G.
