Today was one of those garden days where everything happened at once 😅 We planted a massive tiger eye sumac into the prettiest woven container, tucked in some bargain petunias around it, and started building out a brand new hedge in the side yard with standing ovation service berries. There were tree stumps, roots, questionable spacing decisions, and me sweating through my clothes while pretending the fan clipped to the back of my hat was keeping me alive 😂 We also planted the prettiest cotton candy phlox and went through a whole haul of plants from First Editions including hydrangeas, roses, distylium, and more. It’s finally starting to feel like this area is turning into the formal cottage garden space I’ve been picturing in my head 🌿✨ Wicker Basket Planter: https://urlgeni.us/amazon/WickerBasket Large Gorilla Cart (1200lb Capacity): https://go.magik.ly/ml/2feok/ Laura - Garden Answer 3" Auger: https://www.gardenanswer.com/collections/all-augers/products/garden-answer-3-x-36-auger The Medium Sized Spearhead Shovel: https://urlgeni.us/amzn/MediumSizedShovel Clip-On Hat Fan: https://urlgeni.us/amazon/ClipOnHatFan First Editions Website: https://firsteditionsplants.com First Editions YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@UC0TalNc3lrSSiNMa9BEh14Q 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻 Check out our Q&A channel: https://urlgeni.us/youtube/channel/RobbieMcMenomey (Affiliate links Below) Shop all my favorites on Amazon! 😃 https://urlgeni.us/amazon/Amazon_StoreFront Metal Edging: https://edgeright.com/visitourgarden V.O.G. website: https://www.visitourgarden.blog The best garden shovel https://urlgeni.us/amzn/MiniSpade Follow along on Instagram: 📸 https://www.instagram.com/robbiemcmenomey/ 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 Contact: For general info E-mail: [email protected] For business inquiries E-mail: [email protected] 🐌 Snail Mail: Robbie McMenomey P.O. Lol omg I remember Laura planting those sumacs under the assumption that it was bred not to spread. 3 years later, she's ripping out "the spread" and even eliminated the plant altogether. I feel bad too because she planted those thinking that the cultivar had everything going for it.
My favorite landscape on YouTube is yours. I can't get enough, I never miss videos like I do with other channels... This channel is GOLD!! 🏆 Thank you Robbie & Brent.
All coming together - what an understatement- Robbie, your heart must sing every time you head out to the garden. I’m so happy for you.
You can drill holes in the stumps and keep filling with water they will rot out in no time
Can’t find the information about the wicker planter in the description?
That container for the sumac is a wow factor in your garden - love it! The plantings along the fence are beautiful.
As beautiful as the wicker planter is i cringed because you will never get that plant out of there when it becomes rootbound without destroying the pot. The large lip over the soil will prevent the plant from sliding out when you need to. It happened to me once and I killed the plant trying to get it out and had to break the pot it was in. I will never plant a pot like that unless it is an annual planter. But your garden is amazing,
I heard your lily screaming all the way to Mi. 🥺🌷💚🙃
Such a blessing to have all of those plants given to you.🙌🙌🙌
First Editions! Thank you for recognizing what a great gardener/designer/guy Robbie is and wanting to take pictures of his property, plus gift him some of your plants. I know this is not a sponsorship but, if he wanted to, Robbie would be such a positive influencer for your brand! I do not know much about First Editions but I am impressed, and now I’m excited to try and find you in my area… zone 8b/9a Florida Panhandle. Thank you! 🪴❤️ and… Hi, Clary! 😁
Robbie, the side yard has gotten such a glow up in the past few weeks. It’s looking amazing!
EVERYTHING IS GORGEOUS! I love the side yard plantings! That lily has needed to go for a long time! It just didn’t work by itself! You have been very fortunate to receive all those plants! Congrats!🌿🌳🌳🌺🌸♥️♥️🙋♀️
Amazing yard that is constantly improving! This year is going to be over the moon glorious!❤
Good morning Robbie and Brent. So glad you decided to plant the sumac into a container as all sumac of any type spread.. Even they say or read on the tag slow grower and spreads little to none. Nope you will have a spreader.
Robbie & Brent, the transformation of the garden, between the hard scapes, landscapes & green house ARE amazing! Theres so much inspiration, love it! Congrats on all your hard works, it’s paying off🩷
Robbie, I’m SOOOOO glad you decided to plant the sumac in a container. It’s the smartest thing you could have done yet. I had a tiger eye in my back yard. LOVED it. It was one of my favorite plants in the garden, especially in fall. It just glowed. BUT, it did eventually spread after a few years and it was a nightmare. It took many attempts to finally remove it all. The roots had spread out so far and kept popping up even after we had removed the main shrub (I had pruned in tree form). I do miss it. Maybe I may try in a container too. Have tou considered root pruning (like bonsais) to be able to keep in the pot longer.
Robbie and Brent your garden is lovely and so are you both.
I just love your side yard.🥰🥰🥰
Love everything you have done to your garden 💖 xxx
What a beautiful gift and what a beautiful job you did using those plants! Gorgeous!!
