I notice that on these types of videos where they contrast two bad types of parenting, the comments never get the point, and then side with the abusive parenting style. People will think that there is no way to discipline and teach a child without beating them, because any other way is spoiling and coddling the child, even though that is not the case at all. There are obviously so many ways to teach and discipline a child without violence, and while it is hard to do, parenting in general is, it’s a part of the job. It’s hard but immensely rewarding. A lot of people don’t recognize that neglecting and abusing your child come from the same place of disregard for what the child is feeling and will eventually feel.

My mother and father would both make me sit at the table until I took at least one bite if I said I didn't want it. At my dad's he offered pb and j instead like it was the school cafeteria. Always worked on me and I only took the pb and j once because I knew I genuinely disliked the food.

I feel like there's s point in between straight up abusing children and correctly disciplining them that millenial AND gen z parents completely skipped past.

Gentle parenting was the result of harsh parenting so now that gentle parenting doesn’t help people will try harsher parenting and the circle continues the only way out is to not have kids.
