Hi Marie. I don't know if you're aware but you don't necessarily have to give your heart to God just in church. You can do it even in your home by your bed on your knees. God is everywhere not just church. You get a lot done before church. At least you get to rest a bit while sitting in church. Lol. Have a great week.

You can feel the presence of the Lord anywhere you are and you do not have to get saved in a church service. You can ask Jesus to save you anywhere you are. Love and prayers for your family!

And that does not have to happen in in a church setting it can be while reading the bible, playing worship music at the side of your bed it can be anywhere! Salvation is a gift for us all and like the others have already confirmed, you can get saved anywhere, even at home. The action of going to the altar is your outward expression before others and The Lord, and I believe you received the unction from the Holy Spirit because you already have relationship with Him. Salvation is an inward expression between you and Him, and Christianity is our commitment to Him and our expression of loving God, loving people and the action of our walk for others to see Him through us. Salvation is a matter of simply saying- “Jesus I call on You right now. I do believe that You are Lord and that you died on a cross for my sins and were raised from the dead by God. I invite You into my heart and I confess You as the Lord of my life. From this day forward, I am a Christian and Jesus is my Lord. One time I was specifically called to the alter and I didn’t go. The pastor described someone that needed to come forward and could not have known all of the details. Only I knew it was me. I could barley even physically stand, felt like I was struck by lightning. I still think about it now ten years later.
