my dad used to play the beatles while he makes breakfast for us before we go to school..so this background music is on while i tie my shoes put on my uniform and go wait for the school bus and now I'm old and he's gone and everytime i play the beatles I'm back to those mornings.
Another fun fact: This is 2 songs melded together. Paul wrote the middle part (woke up,fell out of bed) and John the rest. Both songs were incomplete and both artists had no idea how to finish them. So they put them together and created one of the greatest songs ever.
This song feels like the end-credits for life.
No matter how long this Earth revolves, there will never be another band like this
Congratulations, you are officially listening to one of the greatest pieces of music ever created.
Son: "Dad, why is my sister called Rose?" Dad: "Because your mother loves roses." Son: "Thanks dad!" Dad: "No problem, Final E Chord In A Day In The Life!"
RIngo's drumming here is simply outstanding.
1963: She loves you yeah yeah yeah 1967: He blew his mind out in a car
I cant imagine what it was like for people to buy Sgt Peppers in the summer of 1967 and hear it for the first time.
And this, ladies and gentleman, is how to write a song.
Sounds so transcendent, sometimes I can't believe this song is even real
John's voice is so haunting in this masterpiece. Sheer perfection.
This song is dark, haunting and beautiful.
This song will never get old.
That transition from, “and somebody spoke and I went into a dream,” into John’s “aaaahhhh” and the tempo change never fails to give me chills.
Ringo was a far better drummer than people give him credit for. Every beat is just what was needed, no more, no less. Perfection.
Just read in the news that Ozzy wanted this played at his funeral. Rest in peace ❤
This is the Beatles at the height of their power. Timeless masterpiece.
Ringo’s drumming in this song is just spectacular.
Ever since I was 13 I've considered the 'Aaaah' from 2:48 to 3:18 the most beautiful fragment of music ever written.
